said this on another thread and i'll repeat it, if we let Mata go to United the people running our club deserve to be hanged, drawn and quartered
you can debate all day whether it would be a good deal player wise, i think that's been discussed to death here though
but giving United a player like Mata? we might just as well send the title gift wrapped to Old Trafford
I think all in all, Rooney will have a bigger influence for us than Mata will for them, Dont get me wrong I love Mata; Great to watch; but I just think we need Rooney more than we need Mata as we have 482727473 different AM's with Willian odds on to come
sign Willian so we can push Mata out the door <doh and again
Mata, comfortably thre best player at our club, the player who's carried us almost single-handedly for the past 2 seasons?
and you'd be fine seeing him at United?!? and
Logically, Willian + Rooney in for Mata is not taht bad. But it would cost more than we would sell Mata for, and my heart says no
Did I say I'd be fine? Ivanovic aside Mata is my fave player, Again I never said I'd rather Willian come in it's just what looks like is gonna happen. Something you and I have no control over. We have no chance of winning the league without the like of Rooney. Jackson and Eto'o can fark off they're no proven in the PL. My only argument is I think if we don't buy a striker and keep Mata we have no chance in the title race.
with Bale about to leave, Mata is quite probably the best midfielder in the division
and there are Chelsea fans who'd be fine seeing him at our closest rivals
i dn't care who we'd get in exchange, only a halfwit would be happy with this
Thank you TBK, kind of back up my point of Rooney, don't want Mata to go. Give them Oscar. Mata
If Chelsea had a striker playing up top on the shoulders of defenders for through balls from Mata, Hazard et al then Chelsea will have a very good side
Unfortunately Torres just hasn't worked so a replacement needed. Rooney is not an off the shoulder striker so how does he fit into the system not really been a spearhead?
I'd personally be going for Eto over Rooney for the next year / maybe 2 then try and get Rooney then if you still really want / need him when there is more pressure on United to sell.
It would strengthen us swapping Mata for Rooney, but it would strengthen Utd more, also i have a man crush on Mata
Out of all our AM's Mata is the only luxury player, poor at getting back, poor at defending he is a magician on the ball, however so is hazard, so is oscar, i believe De bruyne to be of similar quality as well.
----------
Mata may not be our hardest worker in terms of tracking back but boy he works hard to cut off angels and be the first on our team to move for a counter.
He is our best player, simple as. De bruyne, oscar and especially hazard are very good but nowhere near matas leavel of consistentency and class and finishing
