Phew....ground it out in the end. Invited Villa onto us which we need to learn.
Control the ball, control the game but in the second half we didn't look after it.
Good save by Mignolet near the end!
Not sure about the bench though, we needed a bit of pace & power on the pitch to close it out and brought on Joe Allen?
Im more concerned about what he does within the 9 yards tbh!
Shot saving>>>>>>>>>>>>>>long kicks
God there's always a catch- got to deal with GB's usual three different articles after a win
Mignolet makes saves at critical times...
Yes Andrew righteous said this would have been 2 points instead of 6 last season!!
But more need to step up to the plate for goals!!
Both of those games we would have drawn last season.
Was also impressed again by Henderson. He put in a real shift today and covered a lot of ground helping out attack and defence. Nothing glamorous but did the dirty work very well
Henderson was much better today. Enrique was our best player.
sign of Champions
CHAAMPIONSSSS!!!
Have to feel sorry for Villa when you think how well they have played in these 3 games to only be 9th with 3 points. But I guess their fans would have taken 3 draws at the start of the season so not too bad for them
Studge has the eye of the tiger!
Nervy towards the end there but a good win against a team who have started the season rather well. Hopefully see some kids get a run out against Notts County and then bring on the Mancs!
Dont feel sorry for anyone. We hammered teams last season amd emded up drawing or losing.
You guys defended very well, especially Toure- MOTM for me. We didn't settle, nor play with the energy we should have in the first half, Liverpool were the better team- But I felt we defo were the better team in the 2nd half. The midfielders got forward well, we passed better, played with energy but couldn't dictate it to the forwards.
Once again second game in a row I felt we deserved a draw- But you guys should have got a pen at the end.
draw would have been fair on balance of play
That wasn't a penalty. Guzan got a touch on it. I was going mad in normal time but felt stupid after the replay.

Disagree.
Toure was our BEST player.
thank feck for that, I missed the 2nd half, what was cissokho like?
you guys have recruited very very well since January. I think top four is a real prospect again especially if Spurs lose Bale and you keep Suarez.
As much of a d !ck Suarez can be sometimes he is a world class player and if you keep hold of him this summer you would of done very well.
Cissokho could probably do with a few games but he did OK sticking to the left wing. Looks quite tough, not slight like Sterling or Coutinho.
Dwight Yorke....talking about 'we'.....and he says the same thing talking about United
Fool....
cissokho played as more of a wing back when he came on, he added a little defensively.
Looks big and strong, but was not on long enough for us to see what he's about.
