If anything, we'll have a huge psychological advantage..

I don't like our fans' cockyness atm at all, it's 'mind the gap' mark II

Interesting article.

No arrogance from me, Sundays game will be as hard as its ever been before playing Arsenal away, it's very rare you lose 2 in a row at home.

Not sure i agree when you mention about the pressure, this game is so early in the season that no one can really say it will have a massive effect on the table come the end of the season and with it being before projected big movements take place with both clubs in the window, it feels like a match between incomplete teams. (Lamela and Eriksen may have signed beforehand but I assume neither will play)

One thing I will say is that I think I'm looking forward to the season a lot more than any Arsenal fan is, and that speaks for a lot itself. Being realistic, however many signings you make, if you do make any, you'll finish 4th at best and I struggle to see how you can be looking forward to that. The same can be said for my club but considering we finished 11th in 2008, 5 years ago, that is so much improvement. And about the pressure of spending a lot of money this window, don't forget we will also lose one of the worlds best players, for the biggest price ever paid.

''But look a little deeper and there's an air of new found arrogance.''

"The better it'll be when we beat them without making any new signings."

Pot calling the kettle black, much?

I'm not arrogant or cocky, I just think with the contrasting fortunes of both clubs (at the minute) we have less to worry about. Of course all of the "on paper" stuff means nothing on the pitch, especially in the NLD, but we have stacked the odds in our favour.

Never been so confident about facing the g00ns.. I realise it might bite me in the a.ss but i'm not going to pretend i'm worried about them.. one more injury and they'll be struggling to field a team

Also, after the last 2 NLD's at the Emirates, surely you should be expecting a result?

I like the new Spurs attitude
It makes us look like the under dogs and we generally do well being underdogs.

How is Sandy this days, is he more optimistic?!?!

Unless Lamela can play I think arsenal have a stronger first XI for Sunday, they've just got no depth whatsoever

I expect us to lose on Sunday.

But will that benefit us long term when arsene decides that he doesnt need any new players?

Spurs will hammer arsenal this week.

Wenger and the board lured you all back with promises and empty bids for big players, all the time you were watching the left hand the right hand was getting another teenage boy on a free "he likes them like that" and brining back flamini "also on a free?"

And once again the highest season ticket prices in Europe were paid and you all fell for it AGAIN!

Fooled you how many seasons now?

Analog.. it's close, i'd agree with you if they had Podolski and a half decent keeper in the side

Spur The Moment

posted on 30/8/13

I'll admit i do envy the way Spurs have splashed the cash, but if im honest and this is my opinion, none of your signings are world beaters.

Paulinho, i'll admit i don't know much about apart from his conf cup games, so he could turn out to be incredible.

Apart from him, the most high profile signing is Soldado, and as good as he is technically, he's not as frightening as facing Aguero or even Torres.

In conclusion, we'll beat Spurs on sunday

posted on 30/8/13

Lamela is technically better than Theo, but he wont get the same amount of goals or assists

Soldado is good and could bag maybe 1 or 2 more goals than Giroud over the season, but there's nothing in it.

Paulinho is not as good as any of Cazorla, Rosicky, or Wilshere

Let's be honest g ooners, you would be creaming your pants if you just signed Erik Lamela

Considering Giroud has actually scored from open play in the prem, i thought i was being generous

Arsenal fans are so dumb thinking giroud is anywhere near as good as soldodo. You do realise he scored more league goals than ground and podolski put together last season.

wilshere better than paulinho, huh how why paulinho is a Brazilian international with a fantastic scoring record for a midfielder. Did wiltshire even score for arsenal last season, has he ever scored in the prem for arsenal.

Lamala is one of the best young players in Europe.

The others i know little about but seem to have good pedigree.

Its ok to admit your are worried and if your not you should be.
