Best team in League One last season, show some respect!

posted on 31/8/13

That's twice in a week I've seen Bournemouth written about in similar fashion from the donny board, agreed with the Leeds fan show some respect muppet you shouldn't be in this league ya flukey fu(kers.

Put the handbags down. Yes, Bournemouth played some good stuff last season and were worthy promotion winners. Yes, we rode our luck sometimes last season but you don't fluke being champions over 46 games. Bournemouth have loads more cash than we do and have bought some good players that we could never afford. That's life.Yesterday we were awful because for the first time in a long time the team stopped being greater than the sum of its parts - but we still only lost by a single goal. I wish Boumemouth well. I like to see a smaller club playing attacking football and doing well. The only gripe I have about yesterday was the constant theatrics. One un-named Bournemouth player was caught on the shin by the touchline by Cotterill and uttered a shriek of agony followed by much rolling around clutching a leg that I was convinced was badly broken. Minutes later he was fully recovered and skipping across the turf like a spring lamb. This was just the worst example. I don't care if, like shirt pulling, everyone does it. It is dishonourable and good players really don't need the tiny advantages that accrue.

Just as their keeper did after being booked for time wasting, by his uncle in yellow, then went down like a sack of potatoes (moderator does not like the shortened word that we see advertised in local shops in Yorkshire) reeling in agony when the nearest players to him were his own, but then of course he had his excuse for taking his time as he would be shaken.. Then there was the free kick that led to the goal (offside from where I was) Why was the kick given. Husband had nobody within three yards rdius of him when he stood alone and headed clear, the whistle blows for????????????.

I do believe that the players and manager were very much over confident were very arrogant in their attitude and Bournemouth did what they did.

Now forget the hype of JR and the Board's fall out, forget the big investment which is now on back burner or it would have been implemented by now. Let us just watcha football team, and YES it is me. it is also SUNDAY and I am a good Catholic Boy who just got back from Mass

Nice one BBM! It will be nice to play no teams beginning with B this month. I'll be happy with 10 points from 8 games at the end of Sept.

LOVE FEST.

Steady there Lanza, there are those out there who will say you have been negative with your comment, but even the most ardent of JR Lovers are giving up the ghost I feel, the man has obviously had enough and wishes to go I think, if this is correct then the other two should let him. HOWEVER, he did say some years ago that if he should ever leave, he would write off his loans etc for the good of the club??? Now then a question..When Bramahall and Watson "Bought in" who's shares did they purchase if it was Mr Ryan then he has got his money back already. They should all three of them get their gentlemen's heads on and work on a solution for John Ryan, if he is blowing hot air again then it has not worked, he has made himself and DRFC look foolish. I say this as an outsider of course.. Now back to e-bay for me

posted on 3/9/13

Correction ionly, when DW and TB bought in then JR would have got back two thirds of his share value at that time.
His personal loans to the Company will still stand.

Hound. Thanks for that and that is what I thought (that they bought his shares) what I do not understand and it is business I know. That if JR wanted to go then there is nothing to stop him as they gave him part of his investment back..This is not a go at him, but and it is a big but because of his love for the club. He looks and sounds as though he has had enough and fair play to the man, he should look after his own health foremost, What you, me Yankee and the rest (Me more so) is that in my opinion at least we should ignore his outbursts, I think he has given up on the big crowds (all ducks in a line etc) Like I said to you last year I personally prefer a very successful league one club rather than a struggling one..Now personally and I think that PD has worked it out that when there was all the hype of the take over, most players could see themselves in the reserves and played out of their skins, and now their places are secure (or not may be the case) they have eased off on the pedal. Investment good or bad would make life easier for all concerned BUT it has stalled. now PD has to sort it out, if it is dead and there is nothing to come, then get it announced and get on with it, I may of course be wrong but as an outsider that is what I think, back to e - bay - some good cheap jags on there but have you seen how much the road tax is?

posted on 3/9/13

Dont forget though mate that JR still owns a third of the share value.
As for the players taking their foot off the gas - no way would they do that.
They are pro footballers, not sunday league.
I never saw a pro who didnt try.
JR/ Yes he does look tired and we were discussing this on Saturday.
Perhaps he cant take the club any further and may see this as time to go.

That's probably why he was so Gung Ho about the takeover Hound. He thought it was a way to go and to leave the club financially viable. Then TB put in his two penneth and low and behold the deal is gone.

I still think that TB should therefore put up or shut up. He has sufficient resources to have responded in some way, and must have contacts who would have assisted him taking over the club.

For him to veto the bid and then do nothing about it seems wrong to me. Maybe he didn't like the Irish
( Belize) bid, but then you put your money where your mouth is.

We now need to be told that there is no other bid so the club can carry on, or, be told there is to be a bid an d then do all the discussions in private to avoid all the upset JR caused by making the other one public.

Yankee I agree with you and Hound I agree with you partly (the bit about ownership) I feel that TB and DW could and should buy that last third and let him go if he wishes. Perhaps as business men they feel that the deal is wrong because the Rovers are a Championship club and therefore worth more (Gates of 7500 home fans most weeks though, hardly a moneyspinner). But for some reason and as businessmen does it matter yeah or nay if they are getting their money and going off to Bawtry shopping for the rest of their lives on the proceeds. Then why would it not be the best for the club? it surely would not be their concern. I think that this is a personal issue and although I am not a JR lover, you have to appreciate (even me) what he has done, but now he has had enough.

NOW PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLERS.

I never will forget the Cup game at Scarborough many moons ago (Not too many ) when Donny who were in the league above Scarboro (Cant't remember if they were still in Conference) certainly well below Donny, in league status - possibly league two or (One if Scarb were in two) It was an FA CUP fixture and they buried Donny, sadly we walked back to the car which was on B and Q Car Park at Scarb and we were stuck in traffic trying to get out, the team bus pulled across us and there they were all laughing and joking and boozing for all they were worth. Professional (Moderator again) so I will say "A door operating handle that rhymes with gobs" I called them and Professional anybodies do IF THEY WISH take money for now't we are seeing it this last week

So they lost 1-0.
Does that in any way prove that they were not trying on the pitch.

When I played and LOST I was gutted for a good period, I expect you were too. ATTITUDE and money for now't or OLD ROPE springs to mind, arrogance and over confidence bad preparation. In the Police there is a saying ask your son. "Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail"

posted on 4/9/13

Now, I do like that saying.
Not sure what is has to do with not trying though.

IF YOU DO NOT TRY - THEN YOU FAIL

OR ARE YOU AGAIN TAKING OR ATTEMPTING TO EXTRACT THE URINE

posted on 4/9/13

Not at all.
They lost 1-0.
They probably had a game plan, which didn't work.
Doesn't mean that they didn't try.
As someone I know says, "Simples".
