Sporting 2-2 udinese

Sanchez 20' Cassano 44
Wolfswinkel 87' Di Natali 92

Very even game with nobody quite able to get the victory . Udinese will be happier with the result as away from home.

Marseille 0 - 1 Bilbao

Berbatov 61'

Bilbaos class told. The midfield of Sahin and de Jong meant a lot if possession in midfield and Marseilles attacks were broken up. Carzola always causing problems and it was his great cut back that setup berbatov for the winner.

Roma 3 - 0 Ajax

Swansea 2 - 1 Villa

Niang 33' Terry 67'
Defoe 89'

Possibly a surprise result here as villa have a strong squad on paper, but that's football. Defoe climbing off the bench to net the decisive goal.

Marseille 1-2 Bilbao
Rossi 27 Berbatov 42 ,Agbonlahor 86

Close game between 2 well matched sides but Blbao had the stronger midfield and as such dominated the game...Marseille scoring first on the counter with Rossi tapping home a low cross from an Insigne run. Berba equalises just before half time after Aquilani gets caught in possession. both sides squander chances to take the lead before Aggy uses his pace and power to burst through the defence before rounding Begovic

Roma 3-0 Ajax

Swansea 0-1 Villa
Drogba 22
A good solid open game between 2 very good teams Villa edged it with their experience, Terry and Chiellini too big too strong for Morata who altough trying gamely to get on crosses stood no chance....One man who always looks like he will get on crosses is Drogba so it's no shock to hear that he rose above Juan to plant a firm header into the back of the net for this games only goal

Spurs 2-1Spartak
Lambert 18(pen)
Lambert 75
Balotelli 82

A nice open attacking game see's spurs get their season off to winning start, both sides possess a fair bit of quality and this game really could have gone either way. Lamberts size and presence caused Spartaks defence all kinds of problems whilst creating space for Vagner to run onto..Lambert opened the scoring with a wonderfully struck penalty after wining it himself after being tripped by Inigo on the edge of the box. Spartak rallied and Balo proved himself to be a real handful up top but often looked isolated as Diamanti couldn't shake Melo. Lambert scored his second of the game with a simple tap in after following up Vagners shot that Mignolet could only parry. Balotelli scored a stunning half volley from the edge of the box with less than 10 to go but it proved to be only a consolation goal

Sporting 1 - 1 Udinese
Sanchez ------ Di Natalie

Sporting started the brighter with the fans cheering them on and Sanchez score just before first half when he flew past Lescott and fired home a low shot in the corner. Udinese were patient and got their deserved equaliser after they piled pressure on Sporting's full backs and Van Bronckhorst was chased down by Cassano and nicked the ball and calmly found Di Natalie who slotted home. Sporting's defence were shaky at the end but managed to keep it as a draw.
---
Marseille 0 - 1 Athletico Bilbao
--------------------Agbonlahor

This game was won very late on as both defences were pretty solid mainly thanks to hardworking midfielders but it was tired legs of Marseille that couldn't catch Agbonlahor's run behind the defence and he whacked in the roof of the net. Moments before Marseille had a great chance when Luiz leapt high from a corner and his header smashed the crossbar and out.
---
Roma 3 - 0
Isco (2)
Rodrigo
---
Spurs 2 - 1 Spartak
Jelavic (2) --- Balotelli

Spartak played their hearts out and looked good for the win but when Jelavic came on, everything changed. Balotelli smashed home a freekick first half and sat back to counter. They seem be coping well but when Gignac and Jelavic came on, the combined well for both goals. Gignac flicked on a long ball and Jelavic latched on and slotted home the equaliser. The same two combined when Gignac played it into Jalevic and he curled a beauty for the winner. Cruel game

gerrard

even game and a fair result. both teams are strong through the middle and have a decent set of solid players. the wolf got the first goal after the goalie spilled a shot and ricky pounced upon it. udinese got going after that and gerrard produced a wonder strike to level the game.

swansea 0-1 villa
kaka

a tough away win for villa but a deserved one. they created the better chances and have a strong defence as well as steel in midfield. kaka scored midway thru the second half to get all three points.

spurs 1-0 spartak
lambert

spurs nicked the win right at the death as lambert got his head on a cross to win the game.

Bilbao 2 vs 0 Marseille

Agbonlahor
Agbonlahor

Cazorla played the superb playmaker and was the difference between the sides. He gave assists for both Agbonlahor goals. Gabby just tore Dede and Luiz apart with his pace. Deserved win for Bilbao

Swansea 2 vs 0 Villa

Danilo
Morata

Pace was the difference today. Niang sent Danilo through who rifled home for the first goal. Fischer used his superior skill and pace to find Morata who finished from a tight angle in the penalty area. Deserved win.

Spartak 1 vs 0 Spurs

Balotelli

Balotelli was the difference today causing the spurs defence all kinds of problems. His strength and pace were useful assets but the tactics used suited him perfectly. A ball played through by Diamanti was powered home. Easy win and should have been more

Sporting 0-0 Udinese

A dull game which ends in a bore 0-0 draw. A stalemate between both teams as nothing can separate them in a scrappy contest.

Marseille 1-2 Bilbao
Insigne --------- Cazorla
------------------- Berbatov

Bilbao edge the game in the end as it was a close game for both teams. Cazorla made a god run and slid the ball for Berba' for 0-1 and then Cazorla hit a cracking effort for 0-2 and then Insigne broke through the defence to slot past the keeper.

Swansea 3-1 Villa
ODM ------------ Kaka
Niang
Morata

Swansea dominated the game and used their wide pace to break through the Villa defence. Oscar de Marcos scored a flying goal when Niang doubled their lead with a cute chip and Morata virtually sealed the game with a powerful finish before a consolation from Kaka.

Spurs 1-1 Spartak
V. Love ---- Balotelli

A tight contest where both sides couldn't get the decisive winner in a classic end to end game. Balotelli put the visitors in front with a stunning strike before V. Love slotted home from Kuzmanovic's pass.

Ajax 1 - 2 Udinese
Villa ------- Di Natalie, Gerrard

Ajax started the brighter but Udinese finished the stronger with late goals from Di Natalie and Gerrard.
Ajax pressured Udinese earlier on but missed decent chances to go ahead. However early in the 2nd half Ajax took their deserved lead with Lahm feeding in Villa who unleashed a stunning strike. Udinese responded with an equaliser in the 80th min as Di Natalie headed home a sweet cross. Gerrard's free-kick was the matchwinner.

Spurs 1 - 1 Swansea
Jelavic ----- Morata

This was a pretty tight game and looked to be heading for no goals but two great substitutions livened the game up for the last 15mins. Early on Varane nearly scored from a corner whilst Niang was 1v1 and unluckily hit the post. However, Jelavic came on and instantly latched on from a pass and took his goal sweetly. Swansea hit back straight away with Morata's first touch as he collected the ball and nutmegged Debuchy before rocketing his low drive for an equaliser.

a tight game with two solid teams ends in a draw. ajax started brightly and it was arteta who scored a long ranger. udinese then started to control the game and created more chances. they scored thru stevie g's shot from the edge of the area.

villa 2-1 marseille
kaka, drogba

villa at home proved too much for marseille who are improving by every game. kaka and drogba were a strong presence up front for the home side and they scored either side of the break. marseille got one at the end thru rossi.

spurs 1-1 swansea
lambert
bojan

another tight game between to teams set up well. the away side got going early on as the pace of their forward niang took him past srna to cross home for bojan. spurs then got a couple good chances whcih were missed, but they eventually scored thru lambert after being slottted in by love.

Villa 1 - 2 Marseille

Nice open end to end game with chances galore...Villa took the early lead after Kaka followed up from Drogba's parried header, Marseille drew level after a superb if not controversial Insigne free-kick, Rossi completed the scoring in the 42nd minute with a neat finish from the edge of the box after a lovely 1-2 with Quintero.....both sides squandered chances in the 2nd and Marseille survived a late aerial bombardment from Villa

A finely matched game between 2 very even teams...Spurs started off brightest and took the lead with a stunning half volley from Lambert 10 mins before half time. Swansea started the 2nd half well and showed pace and power on the counter. Niang's driven shot-come-cross was met at the far post by Bojan for the simplest of tap-ins..Niang looked to have won the game for Swansea as they again hit Spurs on the break with the youngster delighfully chipping Frey to make it 2-1, Before Luisao rose highest at a late corner to rescue a point for Spurs

Ajax 2-2 udinese

Puyol 31 Gerrard 44
Villa 84 Di Natalie 72

Puyol gets Ajax off to a flier with a bullet header from a corner. Gerard hits back for udinese with a trademark Stevie g free kick . The game was turned on its head as the talisman do Natalie popped up with a low left footed strike to put udinese in front. Ajax were not to be outdone tho and villa got the equaliser in the 84th minute after a goal mouth scramble.

Villa 2- 1marseille

Drogba 20 Rossi 39
Kaka 73

Home advantage gave villa the victory here on a close game. Villa took the lead with a powering header from drogba. Rossi pulled the French side level as half time approached with a terrific left footed strike from edge of the area. Villa pressed on in the second half, roared on by the villa faithful and they got what turned out to be the winner in the 73rd minute. Great run from kaka and he popped it thru the keepers legs to give villa victory .

Sporting vs Ajax
Both team should have the same fate as Bilbao
--
Bilbao 0 - 2 Villa
(My game)
--
Udinese 0 - 0 Spartak

Both teams were solid in defense as both defences were organised well and cut the threats out early. However, there was some controversy as Samba manhandled Fred and was a clear penalty but the officials missed it and penalised Fred for it. The closest this game went to a goal was Gerrard's 25 yard freekick whistling past the post.
--
Marseille 2 - 1 Spurs
Rossi ------------ Veloso
Luiz

This game looked to be heading for a draw but a thumping Luiz header late on gave the home side all 3 points. Earlier Spurs were bossing the game and kept the fans at bay. Lambert and Love came close but it was a 30 yarder from Veloso that got this game started. Marseille needed the half-time and it proved to work as Rossi finished a lovely volley and both sides went for the win and Luiz came up with it.
--
Roma 1 - 2 Swansea
Isco ----------Moratta, Balzaretti

Swansea won this brilliant game which should have had more goals as there was so many good chances in the first half. Isco set up Rodrigo but his effort smashed the ball and fell to Isco who slotted home. Morata equalised almost immediately with a great solo run and goal. The away side had the momentum and Morata slipped in Balzaretti who was sprinting and unmarked and he checked back and rifled home the winner
