Wenger admits he doesn't want to buy

Seems I was wrong. Even when Wenger confirms what his doubters have been saying along, his apologists STILL find a way to stick up for him.

God, I can't wait for the day he leaves. Then they can all go and lecture PSG fans why they aren't real fans either.

That's all well and good Arsene, but how about stopping making working men and women pay top whack to watch your youth development project then?

Better still, how about retiring and letting us be a football club again?

I;ll say this, under Harry/AVB to an extent, and this is my theory, Levy used to make token bids/approaches to keep the fans happy

Remember we made bids for Moutinho, Leandro? we had no intention getting those players, it was to keep the fans happy

Who did we end up with? Saha and Ryan Nelsen

Yet we kept the faith because we knew the direction the club were going in

Arsenals problem, saying at the start of the window "Arsene has 100million to spend"

Clubs say "Right then, prices go up"

Never admit how much money you have, cash cow for other clubs

Everyone has become obsessed with spending. Spurs summer almost looks like it's been conducted by a child or someone with mental issues. 7 new players? The amount of first team players they have got rid of as well. It will take a season for them to settle from these changes

Spurs have lost some real quality with players like bale Parker Dempsey even tom 100stone just because they have spent loads of money to replace them means nothing it's a massive risk. However because the media is obsessed with spending tottenham are being lauded. I think Spurs won't actually be as good as last year. Everyone underestimates how many points bale won them

Go and do your fúcking project at a club that doesn't charge you 1000 fúcking quid for a season ticket.

End of the day Wenger is a dinosaur of modern football, like someone else just said, he came in and revolutionised the game and the way players trained, played, worked, now the game don change

Thudd, show some intelligence, we were led to believe there was a release clause in Nasher's contract for a bid over 40m so why would we pay more then 40m+1? We're not mates with Liverpool we're not going to just chuck an extra 2m their way because they too wear a red kit. It's a business after all. This story is so irrelevant and has just been inflated by the media yet again.

Not sure what that comment was meant to mean, 8bit, but if you're trying to imply I'm being fickle you're way out of line.

Godfather

No one is denying how much we looked to Bale to get us points, and you will find it hard to get any Spurs fan who thinks we will win a title or a cup, I agree our players need to settle and adapt to the league, 7 out and 7 in is a massive change

But we've had to put up with awful windows in the past, Crouch, Bentley, Bent, Dempsey, fack me!

Parker, Huddlestone, Livermore are not good enough for us anymore,

40 m + 1 quid bid was always going to disrespect Liverpool. No wonder they refused to sell to us

Will 8bit admit he was wrong about Wenger when the window closes tomorrow? Already said we would spend big in January and that we would spend big this Summer. Now all of a sudden we shouldn't spend big, Wenger is right and we should build a team full of Ramseys.

Wonder who the fickle one really is.

Godfather, I think you might be overrating some of those, now ex-, Spurs players.

They've cleared deadwood just like we have this summer.

I'm guessing Wenger hates doing that as much as buying though, by the sounds of it?

Maybe there's hope for him yet then...

Yeah but Don is deluded

If it's a release clause - which we were led to bwleove it was - the club don't have a choice! They can only hope it starts a bidding war. Christ how many kids are on this board. Ooh don't want to disrespect another team might hurt their feelings. Grow up, business ain't pleasant.

Love to see what HMNIG has to say as well IF we don't sign these '2-3 world class players' he was confident we would get.

Lex

Of all the 7 players we've got rid of, aside from Parker, I'm not bothered they've left the club, all not good enough if we're to progress to the next level, which is what we're aspirting to do

You're really bringing the 1 s, Bats.

It seems to me that Wenger has an idealised picture of how football should be, and in some ways that's admirable. I think every club would rather their success came from players who have rise through the ranks at the club, as opposed to signing a host of players, but in reality establishing that kind of infrastructure takes a huge amount of time, money, loyalty and luck - and even all of that is not enough. People talk about Barcelona, but some of their key players were still bought in, Alves, Iniesta etc.

Wenger also has certain ideals about how the transfer money should work to, and unfortunately he has been left behind here too. True some of the amounts of money being thrown around are almost sickening, but you either talk part in it or walk away. By all means lobby for restrictions and FFP, but you cannot ignore the market's current state - for someone with a masters in economics, his inability to understand supply, demand, inflation seems staggering.

We await to see what happens in the market on Monday and today is clearly all about the NLD where I hope we smash Spurs, but at this stage I'm not willing to accept that business done now is anything but reactive.

A truly fantastic article and we can all clearly see that he is to blame for the club's current situation. He has been given money to spenmd and has refused to spend it.

It will take you guys to drop out of the top 4 for the apologists to turn against him. He needs to be sacked

Once you disrespect a club do you seriously think they're gonna go "Ok well let's accept this joke bid"

No!

They're gonna laugh at you and say no, Suarez desperatly wanted to leave, even spoke to the press then he was told no,

No wum, but to go 8 years without a cup with a manager who has so much rich history and experience isn't the Arsenal way
