I think our players were panicky from the off. Not settled and relaxed as in our previous games.

Three games, two goals both penalties, something not quite right,is AvB up too the job ?

Paulinho, Dembele, Sandro and Capoue are all talented players and excellent buys. They are more than simply 'Defensive Bulldozers'.

I agree though that they are not suited to play as a trio and should be paired with a creative team mate.

I don't think AVB sets his teams to be entertaining, but to be winning teams. We will create once we get Eriksen and Lamela playing.I agree with the OP's thoughts on the sub...we definitely needed a central creator.

3 games, arsenal level on points with AVB's spurs. Is wenger upto the job?

OP, your the only other spurs fan that speaks sense, the others that commented didn't even address your points. I agree 100%, defoe = soldado so if one isn't working then both wont.

AVB's chadli

What a ridiculous article, your writing about the team that played today, not the side we will be putting out in the future.

Why would we have spent £40m on two excellent attacking players in Lamela and Eriksen.

They will come into the side and when they settle we will have so much more creativity and flair.

Bringing Defoe on was odd. Feel AVB made a mistake there and should have brought on on Siggy or Holtby

Yes we weren't great today, but credit to Arsenal who packed their midfield to counter what is currently our main strength. Personally, I would have brought Holtby on for Dembele who really didn't do the business again today. However to call Paulinho and Capoue bulldozers completely misses the technical ability both possess.

It was recognised by the management that we lacked creative options up front. As a result they brought in Lamela and Eriksen, Lamela showed a few nice touches and it was unfortunate Eriksen was unavailable.

It's very early days for this new team, anyone expecting total rampage from us is frankly deluded. These things take time, we have the right squad it's now a case of getting them to gel.

Bringing on Defoe smacked of someone not knowing what he was doing. Defoe is a poacher, soldado is a better poacher - neither had service and neither was going to provide service for the other

does the OP realise that we have our creative players still to come into the side... eriksen and lamela?

Defoe did well.

Arsenal squad has been together for years. Spurs still have to gel. Currently Spurs have a better squad than Arsenal but that may change tomorrow.

He did as well as he could, feeding off the scraps. We needed a creator playing off soldado and more intent and purpose on the flanks to help create clear openings.

Tbf, the decision to sub on Defoe did make me scratch my head
