Liverpool are hoping to be able to persuade Chelsea to loan them midfield player Juan Mata this season, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The future of the Spain international has been in doubt of late after Chelsea signed Willian from Anzhi.

With the ex-Valencia man having barely played since Jose Mourinho returned this summer, speculation has been constant that Mata could be on his way out of the club before the transfer window closes.

Brendan Rodgers enjoyed a close relationship with ,Mourinho having worked under him during his previous spell in charge of Chelsea, and is said to be hopeful of being able to pull off an audacious season-long loan move for Mata before the window closes at midnight on Monday.

that idiot from sky italia was the only one who said about psg for ozil, he then later said the bid was "turned down". I dont think it ever happened. I think personally this deal was wrapped up before many knew about it. Some have been saying it was agreed with ozils agent since friday
