Sheriff John Brown makes a very good point.
If this Brazil team is beating who is put before them then surely they are underrated rather than over?
Oscar, Willian, Sandro, Ramires, Coutinho, Paulinho, Gustavo, Moura, Kaká, Ganso, Fernandinho, Bernard.
That midfield offers everything.
Is that whole Chelsea are planning on fielding against City & the Etihad
Negredo should start for Spain.
Brazil, Spain or Argentina will win the World Cup.
They are the only three contenders as far as I am concerned.
Brazil because they are at home.
Spain because they are Spain.
Argentina because they have Messi and he has played better for them in the last year.
The rest are making up the numbers as far as I am concerned. Germany don't have a winning mentality anymore and it's highly unlikely a European team will win anyway. Italy are decent and will probably have a good run.
In terms of dark horses it will be the likes of Columbia and Paraguay, not Belgium.
Can't look past Brazil or Germany for me.
Germany don't have a winning mentality anymore and it's highly unlikely a European team will win anyway.
Double nonsense. I think a European team will win it next year. Last time it was 'a european team has never won out of europe'. Times have changed, the world is a smaller place. The host nation has less of an effect on the rest.
I'm not ruling out Brazil, but that argument is invalid.
It's pointless speculating on who will win the thing until the draw. The draw is going to be massive this year as the difference between playing in the fairly mild south and the stifling heat of the north is going to have a massive impact on the latter stages. Playing in the heat of the north will be massively draining.
If a team can play most of their games in the cooler conditions then they'll have a great chance of winning it solely because they'll have more energy.

What an utterly idiotic comment.
Spain had been the greatest bottlers of all time, but that didn't stop them from winning it.

Fellaini is the stand out player
No he isn't they've plenty of stand out players who are better in their position then Fellaini is in his namley Kompany, Vertongan (spelling) Hazard and the 2 keepers.
They have had a good team for some time now but still fail miserably, I doubt they have the mentality and togetherness or the coach/staff behind them even if they do discover it.

Pity you can't see it was a tongue-in-cheek remark but hey any opportunity to one-up united.
Mignolet is demonstrably an inferior keeper to Courtois
Courtois has proved over the last two seasons, that he is the best GK in La Liga but he is unlucky that he has to displace Cech who has been so strong for us over the last few season.
why does everyone seem to rate Vertonghen so highly?

Think it was the lack of grammar in the last paragraph that threw him.
That Belgian side is packed with quality. Not sure how the backup players compare - WC squad. Germany, Spain brazil all seem to have strong squads. Others have great starting 11's.
Spain could name a forty man squad with only a few players who are not top quality, they're that good.
Spain need Torres back at his best like he was in the last World Cup.
Because he's a good defender kelly?
