You're pretty low down the food chain you mean.

And as for slicing me open, stop being so Scotch!

You mean Scottish, TRC.
Scotch is whisky. Sales of which also contribute plenty to the tax revenue. Especially in the quantities us Scots drink it.

I said this before the deal went through (that it wouldn't happen). Spain were bailed out via a loan, Real + Barca are owned by the country (orsaink).

Don't understand how a country in debt could justify spending so much money on one man when the country is in such trouble.

Dundee, I stand corrected.

Who would need to borrow if they were not broke in the first place,if all business's had to pay back tomorrow the economy would collapse.

And you would get no pocket money Doovde

When you're 700 billion Euros in debt, another 100 million or so here and there won't make much difference.

I'll bet Levy has a squad of repo men on stand-by anyway.

All's well that ends well. Madrid has just been kicked out of the 2020 olympics draw.
My money is on Tokyo.

Have they? Good. Spain can do with the revenue but wouldn't want Madrid getting it. All the government would do is find some backhanded way to give it to Real Madrid anyway, provbably buy any unsold replica kits over the last 4 years for about £350m so they can go spending again - thieves

As it happens financial crimes are looked on quite badly here in Spain...having said that the entire country either lies or is lied to, it's in the blood...

Banks underwrite most transfer fees I believe. There are plenty of bailed out banks in this country which probably lend to football clubs.

As long as Madrid can pay it back, or the bank are getting a regular income from their investment, then it's no different to giving out mortgages or business loans really.

What was bad was Valencia's local government using grants to prop up the football team rather than get them to sell players. That's a different kettle of fish
