I just think Wilshere is overhyped because hes 1 of about 3 decent young players coming through
yes hes talented but hes nowhere as good as some people think (arsenal fans & media)
The fact you think Cleverly should play shows me you don't know much about football
Disagree.
Injuries have stunted his progress big time, to the point where he has regressed.
For Jack, this season should just be about getting back to his best.
Wilshere is overrated, I agree
Gerard is overhyped dinosaur.
Hes not one of 3 decent players. Wilshere, Barkley, Jones, Oxo, Sterling, Shaw, Lowtin, Chalobah, and many more
Shaw - yes
Barkley - yes
Jones - yes
has Ox got any better since he went to Arsenal, hardly
Sterling just looks like a slower Aaron Lennon
Lowton is decent
Chalobah hasnt proved anything
Cleverly
What a desperate post
What about:
Butland, walker, naughton, clyme, byram, kelly, wisdom, smalling, caulker, jenkinson, gibbs, bertrand, rodwell, henderson, ince, townsend, powell, gardner, wikham, welbeck and sturidge
Wilshere is overhyped, definitely. I don't think he's overrated most arsenal fans agree his form had dipped due to injuries, but hopefully this season is on his way back to his best. Anyone who can think for themselves can see this. He clearly has potentional to be a very good player. But it's almost embarrassing when you here the ITV lot creaming everywhere saying he's tha saviour of England. He's 21 for god sake, had a hope season out injured when he was 19-20. He's hardly going to turn into xavi overnight!
Don't have a problem with lambert being in squad. He was top English scoring forward last season in prem, also had good assist figures. So can't see why that wouldn't warrant a place. It's not his fault rest of English players can't score.
Wilshere is a good player
is he English? yes
therefore he is overhyped.... somewhere between the "he is rubbish" and "he is brilliant" is a good player
seems in this country you are either world class or toilet with no inbetween
we also like to shoot our players down based on domestic rivalries....
Hopefully now that shoot on site Lampard has gotten his hundredth cap (disgraceful that he's managed to amass that amount) he will be dropped. Gerrard is still decent though, much better than Cleverly.
Blame the media, Didi Hamann said it right last night when he spoke about the game
So its Gerrard and Lampards fault that Wilshere ketp giving the ball away last night
He is a good player on his day, has the ability to dribble and pass and create chances but nothing came off for him last night.
I don't understand why we persist with the old, dying formula. Why play the players who have already failed as a group and whose careers are petering out already? Why not go for the young talent and give guys like Ross Barkley and so on a run out.
Teams are built over a large period of time, if you play guys together at a young age, their game will develop to suit one another. You can't just pick form players or reputation and expect it to work, it must be crafted.
Woy, that's why. I think we need a young manager to see the project through, instead of these old dinosaurs in it for the here and now/themselves.
Well from last night it was clear we have a serious problem at International level, not just with the selection of national players Woy has to choose from but his tactical know how and implementation of tacticis and formation,
There was a vast different between ourselves and Ukraine last night, it seems under Woy we have gone backwards, I know it's not totally his fault, had Welbeck (*sigh) and Rooney been fit I'm sure both would have played, Ukraine were a decent outfit, and it's probably fair to say they outplayed us at times, maybe due to Woy's negative tactics and use of players
Thought he set the side up to counter and nick a goal through Walcotts pace on the counter and Lamberts ability to hold the ball up, both lacking, as for Milner he offered nothing but a place on the wing, at least in Ashley Cole, Cahill and probably Jagielka who were more of less solid (with a bit of luck)
Walker had a shocker, by his own standards it was a poor game for him, I felt sorry for Wilshere he was the only player in the side looking to get at Ukraine and he was kicked and fouled on more than one occasion, and kicked out the game!
Need to believe in the next crop of players, because Lampard, Gerrard's times are up as internationals, but it does not stop there, the pool of players for Woy to choose from is nothing but poor
Smalling, Jones, Defoe, Cleverley, none of the 4 mentioned fill me with excitement? then you have Jenkinson, Wisdom, Lescott
Thought he set the side up to counter
--------------------------
I think Woy's just useless because in my opinion he didn't even choose that correct players to pull this off.
England don't 'fail'
results have pretty much matched ability over the years
Can you believe that the FA rejected the chance to interview Pep so they could have Roy?
Cleverly believe it or not is the only midfielder in the team ego gets best out of Wilshere.
IF we make it to Rio we will struggle to get out the group
Wilshere needs players around him with the same style of play, move the ball quick and can move in and around players,
Playing with Gerrard and Lampard just does not work
An England team playing Gerrard and Lampard does not work full stop. Ergo drop the fat one at least.
gerrard and lampard are by far the best midfielders england have, whether they can operate in the same team has been the conundrum for over a decade.
carrick is the 3rd best england have the rest are well short of international level imo
