If you are allowed to record programmes on Sky+ and subsequently put them onto DVD then surely just keeping downloads should be fine.

I did something similar with photoshop.. not too hard to do, but easy to muck it up!
I know of two programs that will enable you to download DRM-free video
and audio (MP3) files from the BBC iPlayer.
The easiest is probably iPlayer downloader
you can get that here:

Another more sophisticated program that will effectively enable you to turn your computer into a PVR as fat as BBC conte3nt is concerned is Get iPlayer:

FWIW - this is all illegal and you could be in serious trouble IF you get caught.
Posting what you've done (and how) on a public forum isn't the brightest move you could have made
License fee doesn't even come into it - it's copyright theft, pure & simple.
The fact you've had to disassemble the machine and reassemble with your own parameters is a bit of a giveaway when you think about it
