"I say now that Ozil was an excellent buy, if a little expensive for someone surplus to requirements at Real Madrid"
You obviously haven't seen the outcry from Madrid fans and players over ozil
Crazy decision by Madrid but they are a business with a lot of political influence.
I actually think spurs have assembled a very solid squad and will be challenging for top for sure
Yes we did not strengthen accordingly and it is disappointing.
However, we now have a team that has played together for while now and the chemistry is very promising.
We have also bought in flamini which could turn out to be a very smart move
It should be interesting battle but I'm not deluded in thinking spurs won't be up there
Ah, another Arsenal article on the Spurs' board to kick the week off. Yay!
We actually signed 4 players
Yep, certainly we needed a better defense, I'm just happy with the second best.

If you actually look at an individual level, you will see this article is fairly inaccurate.
Sure, there a couple of extremist Arsenal fans on here, who have views that should be instantly disregarded.
But in general, most Arsenal fans were in one of a few situations over the summer, and very few fans that I have interacted with I would label as 'fickle'
Personally I would ask to OP to show one shred of evidence to backup this article?
the question is, will arsenal be better off with ozel or would they have been better off signing suarez, providing they found an agreement on price, of course...
The problem is is that you take the wumming and extreme views shown on this site as gospel for all Arsenal fans.
I am enjoying watching Perez making up stuff about Ozil now in an attempt to calm the Madrid fans
Its funny how they refused to offer what Real wanted and got for Higuian (£30m) in a position they really needed, but were prepared to pay +£40m for Suarez and got neither.
They made a pathetic offer for Cabaye (£10m) and then spent £43m on Ozil.
While Ozil is a great signing and a quality player, they pulled a very full value for him and it was not necessarily a position they expected to spend so much money on.
Their transfer approach / targeting seems pretty haphazard...clearly more at home spending smallish amounts but when it comes to marque signings its all a bit all over the place.
The conundrum of being a spurs fan:
Logging onto ja606 to see what's happening, going to the spurs board and oh look, yet another article by a spurs fan talking about arsenal (and ozil)
Is it any wonder why they always say we're I'm their shadow? Can't stop talking about them or thinking about them, smacks of inferiority complex. Lets just concentrate on ourselves and what WE can do this season maybe?
I admit some Arsenal fans have a tendency to change their minds about Wenger in a very short space of time, however, from what I've seen, a lot of people either still are skeptical about whether he's the man to take us forward, some people say they want us to show real improvement this season and try to be competitive and others think he's done a good job over the transfer window thus should go when he wants to.
Personally I still don't think he's the man to take us forward anymore and would prefer it if someone new comes in at the end of the season. I've said this for the last 3 seasons now. But then again, judging Wenger's comments about his contract situation, it does seem this time he may leave if he feels he hasn't achieved what he was meant to.
During the window
"Wenger out"
Closing day "Wenger out"
Ozil signs "Wenger is a god, sign a new contract"
Before that
"Ramsey booooooooooooooooooo"
Now
"Ramsey is class"

Great article.
For te arsenal fans responding, ignore the ozil bit and focus on the sudden 'wenger out' to 'wenger is a genius' bit. What's going on there. You're as fickle as sandy.
-----
I think as fans paying top dollar, when you know the club has 70m+ waiting to be spent, you have a right to get a little anxious when the manager hasnt spent a penny with one day left and at the same time making noises such as 'we have enough strength'.
Then with the signing of Ozil, it was a player who we couldnt have dreamed of signing in the last decade.. and it was because of Wenger, so he says.
Guys - Don't you think that Arsenal's current position in the league is a factor here?
Whatever we all think about Wenger (Spurs or Arsenal fans) one thing that can not be denied is that his teams at Arsenal have achieved Champions League qualification for as long as most of us can remember. OK...they haven't won the PL but they have been there or thereabouts for the past 15/16 years. That's an excellent record.
It's all good and well being in the CL and earning lots of money, but you'd think considering Arsenal got to a final back in 2005 you'd have progressed since then, gone backwards and gone out in the 1st round almost every other season when you draw a half decent team,
Lionel............................................This is only in response to certain (not all) Arsenal fans who come onto our board & rubbish Eriksen if we dare to compare him to Ozil 2 years ago, and it is these same fans who were after Wenger's blood only hours before they got Ozil.
For the record I think Wenger has done a great job at Arsenal & those fans should be careful of what they wish for!!
Chris H........................................So you haven't been reading posts on the Arsenal board over the past couple of months then? I would suggest the 8/10 Arsenal fans on here were extremely unhappy with Wenger & called for him to retire.
GG, there is certainly a contingent of fans who were very unhappy with how the transfer window was conducted and felt Wenger should go if he didn't sign anyone big.
I think, the general feeling was, that it would have highlighted the final straw for him in terms of a hunger to win trophies.
I was in this camp, and stick by it. Ozil was a fantastic signing, but I judge Wenger by results now.
Like I say, whilst there may be a couple of extremist idiots spouting a different view every week, most were fairly lucid in their views and stuck by them.
