Potential massive dropped bóllóck in my opinion.

It's our goalscoring thats won us the games - and our top goalscorer is Griffo.
Siggy and Doyle can come in to play with Griff, but neither is good enough to replace him

Crazy decision to drop him. We shouldn’t be trying to match up against the Walsalls of this world we should be fielding our best XI in our preferred formation and taking the game to them.

Maybe KJ thinks he hasn’t earned his money if he doesn’t tailor the team to the opposition.

Truthfully guys, which is hardest to bear?

Getting beat at home by the baggies in a BCD

5 ex-baggies played for Walsall so it must feel about the same?

It was a big disappointment last night and its not an over reaction to one defeat because most supporters saw it coming after Saturday, but Jackett seemingly didn't. In fact including the JPT its now 4 home games in succession where the opposition have looked more comfortable with their set up and more capable in their build up play.

Its for reasons like this that I always say don't judge a manager for 3 months. Things will go well at times and at other times not so well but its not until about three months have gone before you get a real feel for whether a manager will take us in the right direction. But its starting to feel that the honeymoon is over for Jackett and he needs to settle on a format that gets the best out of his best players, and the format he has used in the last two games have certainly not done that.

Dropping Griffiths was a clanger. Not at all sure about Golbourne. But most of all, playing three central midfield players so tightly together is a real no no that will never work.

it's amazing how they pop up on the wolves board !

like a seal following a great white...........

They have very little to be happy about in their own world so are bound to take any chance to take pleasure when we have a blip.

I’d have thought they’d be concentrating on their six pointer on Saturday but maybe they don’t want to think about that game and the consequences of losing it.

Tatts, this is Wolves mate, we can't be cruising along near the top without a care in the world because we all know it's only a heartbeat away till we shoot ourselves in the foot
Why do we leave one of the highest scoring strikers in Britain sat on his ar$e on the bench ? It's obvious KJ is still trying to work out his best team and formation isn't it ?
Still it's early days and I just hope he finds out sooner rather than later
All I can say to the gloating throstle is, jog on bogster and see you next season

Don't knock the baggies. They scored a goal on Saturday, the highpoint of their season so far. Understandable that they are gloating

posted on 18/9/13

No no.

'League goals 2013 -14
Sheisse 1 Jolly well done
Wolves 14'

...is gloating.

I just asked a simple question.

I'm no football manager, no, honestly, I'm not.

But, if KJ puts a team out that gets Molineux rocking, scores 4 goals without reply and "blows away" the opposition, why would he feel the need to change that team until they start to fail?

It seems to me that once he'd bought McD and more recently, Golbourne he felt obliged to play them, come what may, as he'd spent Morgan's money on them.

Surely, with a young team, the thing to build on more than anything else is the enthusiasm and confidence within them, not drop them to accommodate new signings!

Agree completely Cyp, it has started to go downhill with the new additions, maybe because they are not up to speed with KJs ideas yet.

The most amazing thing from last night is that we played 1 striker,, and that was Doyle, my mum is fully aware he will never score enough goals on his own, so how can KJ not be aware of that fact........secondly its league 1, we have an embarrassment of riches in the strike department, we need to play 2 strikers at least.

I think McDonald is a quality player, but it didn't work last night. Maybe it might be worth Evans playing in his position and giving McDonald a go on the bench.

I thought Golbourne was OK yesterday but I do believe that LB is Ricketts' best position. I would revert to him at LB and bring back Stearman. I'm not sure that Kenny will do either of these things though.

Up front I would start Griffiths (even though I thought he was poor when he came on) and Doyle and put Siggy on the right. Contrary to much I've read today I thought Siggy had a reasonable match, showed a bit of class, just missing the final ball.

Also contrary to many opinions I wasn't too impressed with Davis last night. Perhaps it was an improvement but not really good enough in my opinion. Wouldn't mind seeing Foley given a start in Davis's position.

Thought Sako had a poor game but can't really drop him.

My team for Saturday:

Ikeme
Doherty
Batth
Stearman
Ricketts
Siggy
Foley
Evans
Sako
Doyle
Griffiths

I'll be amazed if Saturday's team looks anything like that, however.

Other than Foley i would agree, Would have Kmac in there instead.

this.....
“Our link play can improve and get our wide players involved, although the two lads down the left look like they’re getting quite a good partnership going.”
...worries me.
First it indicates Goldbourne will probably keep his place which will mean no return for Stearman and Ricketts staying at CB, secondly if KJ can’t see that Goldbourne’s aborted runs had a negative effect on Sako then scréwing his eyes up like pig in a sandstorm is obviously ruining his vision.

Cinci, not sure McDonald and Evans together works. One or the other for me plus a more defensive midfielder, Davis or Foley. I just think it's time to give Foley a start.

posted on 18/9/13

I think McDonald’s problem last night (like so many) was that he was out of position. He was asked to play just behind Doyle which didn’t suit him so he kept dropping deep to pick the ball up which left him with no options in front of him. This meant Doyle dropped deeper to try to link up.
If we’d played 4-4-2 with Griffiths the most advanced then Doyle would have been able to make space for McDonald and the rest of the midfield to pick a pass or press forward.
