We played some good stuff last year with 3 amigos much better than the dross this year.

The understanding is fairly simple when it comes to Roman, win or leave!

Hope Jose brings some good and entertaining football but most probably it won't.

It's like a snoozefest and effects the crowd as well. Against Basel it sounded like Emirates

We are not Palace who have to defend so need a better no. 10 ..what a stupid logic. what we need is creativity to unlock defences and keep the pressure in the opposition half...nowadays we are so prone to counter attack through th middle

even Barcelona players have to defend. From the very first to the last one. It's not the most difficult thing to learn. Even Robben and Ribery it. So, I can't see the problem here.

In too short periods of a game though, too many times we were overun in midfield and this is what he is trying to change...........most of our good stuff last year was individual brilliance, not great team football..

Look how poor we were agst Benfica, people have short memories if they think we were good last season

Wasted whole summer chasing Rooney and that will cost us

In the long run, if we aim to be better than Madrids, barcas and Bayerns, then we don't need it some of the time, we need it almost all of the time.

But winning trophies have been covering up this for years.
The league is a totally different comp though

Rooney would have been a great signing for us. Thought we were assured of getting him

Under Jose we won't be likes of Madrid or Barcas

back to wall defending and iron shield covering but. tocks

Said last night in the Guardian Rooney has 40 assists/goals in 44 games.

Rooney was going to be our Mata replacement. I'm convinced of that

Yes and the last two years we have finished 6th and a last gasp 3rd.........that tells the story, and truthfully our top 4 status should never be in doubt with the money spent, but it is looking like we might be in another fist fight end of season..

But just like the Modric non signing we don't think of the not getting these players before it's too late

posted on 21/9/13

Yes he would, but I never truly though United would sell him to us, not once.

Jose will demand Roman's tank to bomb clubs with £50 bills to get his wishlist fulfilled.

I don't know but I rate Defoe very much

So true! Eto was Baldrick's cunning plan.

I'll admit I'm baffled and, to be honest, a little annoyed by the treatment of Mata this season. A player who was practically the first name on the team sheet for the past two seasons, racking up a host of goals and assists in the process, now reduced to an afterthought.

But, I'd be more convinced of the managers motives if I could see clear evidence of the alternative strategy he was trying to put in place. Not just results, but performances.

And that's where I'm struggling. Too many players seem to be off form, struggling to maintain any kind of fluidity in the overall team play. Possession stats, on the whole, look ok. But so much of that is what I'd call ineffective possession, easily broken down and often leaving us susceptible to counter attack.

And I wonder how much of that is down to the constant rotation. I mean I understand that with the number of games being played each season, rotation is essential as those deamnds take their toll. But that can hardly be the excuse when the season has barely started. Surely at this stage, its important to have your core team building their understanding of the managers philosophy and each other. Once you have that in place, it becomes easier to swap one of two players without disrupting the overall dynamic of the team.

Alternatively, does it actually that mean that Jose is rotating because he still doesn't know his strongest 11? If so, after a pre-season and 6 competitive games, that's a pretty damning assessment of him (or his players).
