"I don't think I could ever swap Rangers losing a title for anything, so that must mean a hell of a lot to you Barry."

That being said, if I were offered a chance to drive around the Monaco GP circuit in a Ferrari F1 motor, that would run it very close

If I go to it, which I am considering, I can't promise a thing

posted on 22/9/13

As it should be

That would be almost perfect, even if Rangers win a cup we benefit financially, win win IMO

Bluedid you watch the vid? None of those guys get a penny, completely amateur. . theyre teachers, plumbers etc..yet the training and commitment is unreal, its all about pride in the jersey of the county you come from

Well I can't see you getting much out it truth be told. Raith have said they want Parkhead if it's them v Rangers, Annan have said they prefer Ibrox so we just have to wait and see.

What a shambles of a set up we have here though. Not knowing where to play cup finals.

Aye watched a wee bit Barry, but got into the convo with Piff and lost the vid. Still looks quite a quality sport, and the fact it's amateur and about pride etc is pretty amazing.

Aye, Doncaster or Regan, couldn't organise a pash up in a pub

Barry, the video reminded me of how good it was at Croke, like a euro night at Parkhead but noisier

Seriously, do there guys have full time jobs?

Sport at it's purest IMO then

That being said we have had abuse for struggling against those who play for pride.

Seriously though. A lot of the guys in the lower leagues are comparable to those guys. All play for the love of the sport, rather than gaining money out it.

If you get a chance try to watch it mate as the final moments are pretty dramatic, I was behind the goal were all the action was taking place

Its unreal mate, some of the hits the guys take and just get up and on with it...itd be an embarrassment to them for a stretcher to come on.

To give you some idea, you get 3 points for a goal, 1 poimt for over the bar and between the posts, the ball is smaller than a football and heavier plus the pitch is almost a 3rd bigger than a football pitch

Piff they dont get a penny. The amateur ethos is very strong. The guy who scored Dublins winning point in the final two years ago is local to me. He was at work teaching secondary school at 9am the following morning. They also give up a lot of time to hospital visits/charity stuff etc..

Blue, we wind you guys up but you can only play where you are

Fitba is what it is and I don't expect you enjoy a win any less than us

Kevin Moran was a brilliant player for Dublin and won all irelands before signing for man utd, he also played amateur football

Of course. I've personally enjoyed it from a football fan viewpoint, as it has shown me there is a talent pool still in the Scottish game. Plenty good young players in lower leagues.

And Barry I might do. If not you should post highlights.

Barry, that is exactly what our fitba is missing

I can remember when no fan even knew what the players in our teams were earning, wasn't important to us, but now it is all about how much we can pay them no matter how pash they actually are

In the 150 odd years of the game only a handful of guys have ever transferred, usually because of work or whatever. You play for the county you were born/grew up in and thats it. A lot of guys who play for the likes of Donegal, Cork, kerry etc.. live and work in Dublin and travel home for training

I remember when Rangers fans could focus on football, Piff. Nowadays we don't even know what that is!!

When im over for a game and I see guys getting out of there seats to applaud someone taking a corner. I could never do that. I think the guy is getting pretty well paid and hes only taking a corner, does he really deserve this adulation. He hasn't banged one in from 30 yards. Maybe its my GAA heritage coming out..I dunno

I did applaud Drogba when he was warming up at the Chelsea match a few years back, truth be told, but that was only because he was a world class player.

Barry and Blue

Fair points well made to be fair, Blue, I bet Ibrox does not rock any less that it ever has

And Barry, bang on, fans who wet themselfs when we get over the half way line have been spoiled so they have

"Fair points well made to be fair, Blue, I bet Ibrox does not rock any less that it ever has"

It has. Ibrox in recent years has been awful. So so quiet. Same seems to be said of Parkhead when I see it on Gilette soccer saturday. There seems to be little atmosphere apart from the singing sections at both stadiums.

The SNP rushed in their rules and now football fans are scared to sing at football games.

I know im harping on a bit lads and I apologise

The Dublin team had a training session followed by an A vs B game at my loca club a few weeks ago. I was at it, the training was fierce, there were hundreds of kids there with jerseys etc all looking for a photo or an autograph. Every one of them players stayed back over an hour and half to sign/pose with the kids. Every one of em had a smile on their face too and the kids were ecstatic. Thats why I love the sport, the guys are just honoured to wear the shirt and they do there 6am (before work) and 7pm (after work) double training sessions, without any complaints of being tired. Tbey do it because they love it.

Im away lads. G'night.

COYBIB!

You ain't harping on at all Barry. It's interesting to learn about new sports.

I would be the same about F1. I could go on for hours about that.

The only beef have with the GAA is the Gaelic "Football' tag...It's not fkin' football if the ball spends more time in yer hands than being booted...

Hurling is great though, I have a Hurley racquet by my front door for bad people who might try to harm me....
