West Ham may have a rubbish manager, but he will be gone in a few years' time. By then, we will be preparing to move into the Olympic Stadium.
Come 2016, Tottenham will still be playing in the mediocre 36k WHL. The rubbish they wasted £110m on will likely have gone and they'll be back to being a mid-table club playing in one of the smallest London grounds in the Premiership.
myhammers
I dont know what part of "Spurs will have a purpose built football stadium that will totally trump West Ham's rented bowl shaped joint athletics stadium" you dont understand.
West Ham still have their pikey old Upton Dump, that for the record; had an addendance of just 18,611 last night.
18,611
Yes, Upton Park is a dump. And the transport connections are awful. It's a nightmare getting home after games.
The Olympic Stadium is the total opposite. Huge capacity and with the best transport links in the country. I guess that is why Tottenham were so desperate to get it.

really gonna fill those 50k seats

Firtsly, the OS is an athletics stadium....
And secondly, not that you would know, but West Ham dont even play there.
And as i say, they played in Upton Dump last night in front of just 50% capacity....
The programme for Spurs stadium is:
Start late 2013/ early14.
Build a brand new purpose built state of the art football stadium, designed specifically with acoustics and atmosphere in mind with the seating closer to the pitch than any other comparable modern stadium for maximum matchday experience and atmosphere.
Completed for start of 2016/17 season.
West Ham build programme:
2014 Get some Eastern European builders in to remove all the seat and replace them with recliners to gain maximum viewing experience of the ball as it is repeatedly hoofed up field.
Order 30,000 sets of binoculars.
Block book advertising air time on Talksport for the next decade to promote give-away tickets to every home game.
Apply for a licence to hold a car boot sale on the pitch every other Sunday, to help pay the bills.
Completed for start of 2016/17 season.
Oh and before you start moaning about Wumming, you made this debate about stadiums - not me.
We were all congratulating Big Sam after his 100 games in charge.
Putting Kerry Katona in Buckingham Palace
Like putting Bambi in an ice rink...
The OS will cost in excess of £600m. WHL is worth less than the £150m it will cost to convert it to a football stadium. And all paid for by the taxpayer.
Your 'new stadium' is nowhere to be seen, unless you're planning to play in the newly-built Sainsbury's. Very few clubs have the £450m+ to build a new stadium, especially in difficult economic times.
Daniel Levy's 'programme' for a new stadium is just a ploy to appease Tottenham fans who were so disappointed to lose out on the OS.
Bitter, bitter, bitter.
Like trying to flush polystyrene down a toilet....
Thudd: Yes, the OS can be compared to Buckinham Palace.
