My article about Ramsey & Wilshere pretty much sums everything up
This could get a bit tasty.
I think both will be fantastic, and we're bloody lucky to have them at the club!
Why can't people learn to support our players especially after these lengthy injuries instead of criticising them.

I wonder if someone will post my comment on the 2nd link about Theo when I was winding powerking up!
Why can't people learn to support our players especially after these lengthy injuries instead of criticising them.
---------------------------------------------------
We're probably the most patient of the top clubs: a result of our long dry trophyless spell that has watered down expectations. But this isn't West Ham. Expectations are naturally high and if a player isn't good enough, we have to find better players. We've "supported" too many players over the years and they either screw us over at the first chance when they develop into wanted talents by other clubs (Flamini, Hleb, Cesc, RVP, Nasri etc) or they turn out to be wastes of time like Denilson. If a player merits criticism, the fans are entitled to dish it out. I'd happily cop some criticism from faceless fans on the internet if I could earn 50k - 60k a week.
You're entitled to criticise but that doesn't make it right... with Ramsey he was an amazing 17 year old who had a career threatening injury, his confidence was really low and the way he got scapegoated was fúcked up to be honest.
He was a good 17-year-old, not an amazing one. He had a decent pre-injury run in the team but I'd hardly say it was spectacular. I wasn't blown away the same way I was discovering Cesc for us. Ramsey's injury gave legitimate doubt as to whether he would ever become a player whose quality could match our ambitions. I think almost every Arsenal fan who criticized him wished him well but simply didn't feel he was good enough. Fair enough he's proving people wrong but it doesn't mean the criticism wasn't justified for what was a long period of poor performances.
That's the occupational hazard of professional sport. If you're earning 55k a week, you should have a thick skin to withstand strong criticism. He's a young, fit, good looking, super rich kid. It's hardly like some poor, handicapped Afghan veteran who gets mugged in the street by drunken yobs. Let's keep a bit of perspective.

The simple facts are that football supporters are idiots.

Knowing deep down that you're a fukwit is a difficult thing to deal with. We always fight against the self-perception of our own stupidity.
Much of the egotistical (tiny) ock-waving that goes on here is a desperate attempt to be 'knowledgeable', to be 'right' or, at transfer time, to be 'ITK' by people who are nothing of the sort.
Opinion is great, but you may ask why it is often presented as 'FACT' when it's just wind.
The reason is plain. People worry that they're idiots and that others will think so too. So, they 'pick a side' (ridiculous when only one team is being supported) and join in with the juvenile 'debate' that barely gets above puerile verbal assaults on this player or that - or, indeed, the manager.
Many football fans, from the neck up at least, are barely out of nappies.

------
He was excellent pre injury, for a 17/18 year old he was outstanding. Not as good as Cesc but he was still a special talent. I doubt any fans were saying he was just decent at the time.

probably about half wished him well.. the rest turned on him and slaughtered him. Ramsey was made out to be useless and he's been our best player. when the criticism is so spectacularly wrong then I wouldn't say it's justified. What is justified is Wenger keeping faith in him when everyone said he was an idiot.

That's a cop out to deflect from the point... if our fans got behind him he definitely would have found form sooner. scapegoating players is just pointless, we want to see us win and be successful or do you just want to moan about their wages.
His passing was awful and plenty of times he was a liability, things have now changed for the better...

In hindsight you can find quotes from every poster to prove anyone on everything wrong.

But that's not the point. People calling for Ramsey to be sold are idiots.
