That's the nature of the beast Mike - but would a more consistent 90 minute winger, hopefully like Henry, get more out of Griffiths than the erratic Sako ?

Totally agree with you Mike. Sako is consistently the player that makes most chances for us and inevitably we would be a lesser team without us. To me what he doesn't do well is irrelevant, its what he does well that matters. Forest are prepared to pay over £3m for him. Millwall are prepared to sell Henry to us for £250k. I hope Henry does well and if he makes half the chances over the next year that Sako has in the last year he will be a bargain. But with the best will in the world he wont be as good and it would be silly to put that expectation on him
Hasn't the complaint so far wolfgang been that we've only got 1 winger. If we sold sako we'd be back to square one again. Yes we'd have £4m in the bank but I'd be very suprised if we saw anymore than 500k of that
The problem is emphasised by not having a ready made replacement that's for sure, I would like to think kj isn't just going to turn to golbourne.
How much him leaving, if he leaves, will damage us is an unkown.
Do we need moments of genius to unlock Div3 defences or will doing the simple things well for 90 minutes prove more effective?
The first task will to be to find someone capable of doing that, being a "Doyle on the wing", 7/10 week in week out.
That player doesn't reside on either wing for us at the moment so I'd be reluctant to see Zeli become first choice on the left. He isn't consistant enough and it reduces our options and competition on the right.
Something has been playing on my mind. Has Jackett ever been partial to wing backs?
It's not a system I like but he seems keen on a narrow midfield, we have the personel in Doherty and Goldbourne, Ricketts can cover LB & Stears RB as one of the wing backs goes forward and it allows us to play two up front and five in midfield.
Like I say I'm not a fan but I have a feeling we may see it.
Definitely a possibility, but would result in us leaving some good talent out of the side.
We have an excellent defensive record and I would be surprised if Jackett changed much there. I think he will either bring Zele in as a straight replacement or play a narrow midfield.
If we are presuming Sako will leave then I would like to see us bring in a Premier League youngster on loan, ideally someone that can play wide, have some pace and create chances

Nope. Latest news is that he's staying. On the basis that notts f knew the terms and what we are asking for and haven't met it doesn't this count as tapping up.
I'd refuse to sell him (or anyone else) to them at all now
