Albi - i think what you are saying is that it was a good battling performance and i agree 100%.
In the first half hour, as usual, we played very well, forcing Leicester onto the back foot and shutting their fans up.
However, we didnt really have much in the way of scoring opportunities although Schmeical made a very good save from Furman and Macheda twice looked as though he had unlocked their back four only to be denied by last ditch tackles.
In the second half Leicester upped the anti as you would have expected from a quality side like them but they only created three half decent chances and each time Turnbull proved his quality.
You are right with the four names you picked out as our best players on the day but special mention again must go to Brownie for his tireless work.
Six ponts in 8 days is a massive reward for the team and the team spirit of last season is still very evident.
Because we went in front the noise level from the south stand was very good again and the trumpeter was very welcome again.
Leicester are a very good side and i would expect them to be in the mix at the end of the season so for us to pick up these three points is excellent.
Derubishdese - i saw the Italian flag when Kiko came off mate, well done.

Scrappy - but we got through it. Joined Late and only saw bits of the game because I was at a Winti game (we started 10 minutes before Donny finished). Probably an off day for Leicester but I couldn't care less about that. From what I saw we matched them and were worth the points.

Best all-round performance for a long while.
Battled defensively & looked menacing going forward. Don't forget Leicester are a very good team and we matched them for most of the game. Agree with the shouts for 3 of the 4 mentioned, but sorry Jones no! Still looks too shakey for me won plenty of headers but got caught flat footed a few times. I'd have given it Keegan today.
But I thought Duffy did very well and can at least deliver a decent ball from a corner. Hope he keeps that useless tw at Cotterill out for the rest of the season, he's keen at least!

We got what we deserved - Absolutely nothing. Well done Donny on a deserved win. Only negative from me is the time wasting the ref let your keeper get away with - There wasn't any need to do that though, we wouldn't have scored if we were still playing now

Unfortunately Foxy its in the game nobody likes it done to them its not pretty but if the boot was on the other foot I would be shocked if you never did the same thing. Think about it, just look at the late goals we have conceded and then you will see why our keeper did it.

Spot on Alex and yes, I'd be happy for my team to do anything to preserve a win, my gripe was with the ref letting it go on without so much of a wagging finger - The plonker then booked (the totally ineffectual) Nugent for kicking the ball away when trying to speed up a free kick

However, Danger Fox the ref obviously took note of the timewasting by Turnbull or there would have only been 2 minutes extra time, there were only 3 subs made in total.

Awsome performance by the lads today.
Backs to the wall at times yes, but also good going forward,
Furman and Keegan were outstanding, Browny and Bongo not far behind.
Very Very happy Bunny tonight.

Should your name be "derabbitsdese" then seeing as you are such a happy bunny?

NY, I had a Bunny for 9 years, one of the best friends I've ever had. Broke my heart when he left us. Bit like when SOD left, I'll prob's be the same when no 26 leaves too.
Hope you're shaping up ok. I had 3 years of pain when I was a young man, was having the same treatment that took Marti Caine but I had faith, family, positivity and the Rovers and Dons to support me. I live every day to the full and thank God and King Alec, the Queen and the NHS for every minute.
Hound, I gave the flag to 4 ankle biters who sit in front of me. They come with their dad and Grandad every week, The future generation is safe in that family. They loved it. Kiko saw it when the players came out, he gave them a clap and a nod. You'd have thought they won the lottery. It made me realise how much I would have loved to take my own kids to the matches if the aforementioned hadn't rendered me as inneffective in that department as Cotterill is as a footballer.
Proud to be RTID yesterday and every day

I take your point Foxy

I honestly think that this site is becoming more of a site for opinion and debate. true we all support the Rovers in our many ways and from various homes around this tiny planet, there are also falling out amongst us. But it appears that there are many friendships appearing too, many have one thing or another in common besides football. Last night Yankee I did for you and "D" what I said I would. God Bless you my friend and God Bless all the many others on this site
who have been subjected to the realities of live. Good three points yesterday and the Leicester lot of moaners? well life is never perfect even if you have all the money in the world.

Well, I'm pleased to announce I'm not one of the moaners.

Just watched the highlights on The Football League Show. Their editorial wizards made it look a slightly better game than it was, and right at the start I saw my own face in the crowd. When do I get my other 14 mins and 58 secs of fame?

There weren't any downsouf - He has to demonise us in his head to fulfil his vision of a supporter of another club

posted on 6/10/13

downsouf....I did not say all LCFC supporters did I, according to some members on your own forum DRFC were poor and will be relegated and the fact that you lost was not acceptable to a team of DRFC standards. I never said ALL at all. My apologies if it offended the few that took exception. I have no problems with you at all, spent many happy holidays in Leicester as a teenager

posted on 6/10/13

Jeez, you've taken it all the wrong way . It was supposed to be in jest.

I thought I had become accustomed to your northern humour having spent 6 months working in Donny last year.

posted on 6/10/13

Thanks for that downsouf, ionly tends to be a bit touchy with us ( with everyone),, don't get upset. I did notice something on another forum about your supporters and racist shouting.

It's good to know that the Leicester supporters policed this themselves and as I understood from the comments, he got a good doing over.

Well done to all the Foxes fans for that.

Derubbishee, sorry to here your story, hope you are well now good thing this faith ain't it?

I wish I could have attended the match. I haven't been back to Donny since last year. That Leopard pub had only just re-opened when I left so some 'quiet' hours were spent in the Corner Pin instead.

They wanted to charge £9.60 to park in the Frenchgate so I used to park in Hexthorpe and walk in. I sort of miss it there.

NY. Thanks for your sentiment. Now and then I feel if only it hadn't happened but most of the time I regard it as a life shaper. Things so big and nasty shape the person that you are. Many others have trials an tribulations just as bad or even worse. I was lucky, Stay positive keep focused and all will be well,

downsouf....My apologies.... My humour is distorted and as Yankee says, I do have problems.... I do not even like myself sometimes. But compared to others on this site I have no problems.

I suppose if Donny played in Black and White these days I would be happy. But then again maybe not

Ionlywish. No need to apologise. Best wishes to you. When I read through the input on some other boards it's like there's a civil war going on.

Having now found time to watch the match, it was a rather more impressive performance than I expected.

It is all very well for these top half teams saying that they were not at their best when they play us, but performances are conditioned by how well you are allowed to play and on this basis, Leicester join Forest, Blackburn and Wigan in being stifled into supposed or imagined moderation.

Leicester had a great deal of possession in the second half, but they were not as incisive as Rovers were with the ball in either half. It was slow often sideways and backwards for them and we seemed to keep them away from the danger areas possibly not at will, but reasonably comfortably. It was certainly not a just-about-hanging-on-for-the-win situation with a succession of last ditch clearances.

Everybody worked hard and hasn't Brown improved this season? Instead of giving away fouls with challenges, with improved balance he gets himself between defender and the ball and earns far more free kicks than he gives away.

Duffy has the makings of a really good provider which he would have been with better decision-making, but he needs match practice. In fact there were several in the team who have not had the chance to work with each other and their understanding will improve with time. Copps still misses O’Connor!

And credit to the ref who kept the match flowing.

Robinson did not lack effort, but the role he adopted or was given did not seem to get the best out of him.

Despite the fact that some faces are missing in this line-up, it could be the best combination yet with much potential.

I'll second you on that about Fuzzy Nookie. I know those times when I have tried to cobble something together when Fuzzy has said he couldn't do one, it was hard work.

I do not have the statistical ability nor the computwer ability to match him, I am more of a words man. It must take up a considerable amount of time. Once again Thanks Fuzzy.
