Going solely by performances against United its Yaya Toure
both top players, but yaya is a machine and has more to his game.
Yaya by a 'thick' whisker.
He's the player Vieira would love to have been
Both great players, would be happy to have either in my team
Vieira. No contest. Yaya flutters in and out of games far too much.
Yaya for me, more to his game.
Agree with carrot, vieira far more consistent.
Vieira for me. Again based on consistency. Though toure has far more goals in his game.
Vieira , just no contest.
I love YaYa, but I would also go for Vieira.
When he is on his game YaYa is a beast. Vieira was always a beast.
Vieira was up against tougher midfields in his day, although he wouldn't be able to play CB, DM, CM and AM like yaya. Verdict = vieira due to prolonged dominance
How good were the Vieira vs Keane days, football just isn't what it was since it's gone soft.
Prime Essien > Vieira and Essien
Vieira for consistency of application and for general awesomeness
*Prime Essien > Vieira and Yaya
Vieira regularly dominated games and was the definitive leader of his team. He had so much drive about him.
YaYa might have more to him, certainly in an attacking sense, but he's not as consistent or as good a leader.

It was like two gladiators going at it. Even more special because of the rivalry between the clubs back then
Miss those days, Utd/Ars games were epic then
The pre-tunnel row at Highbury was epic, as was the Keone vs Rudd game.
I don't think there is a fixture in the English game with no much passion involved these days, even vs the scousers
Yeah me too and I support neither team (although I always wanted united to beat arsenal). Up until city vs united in April 2012 I'd say the 2-2 draw at highbury in 2003 was the biggest premier league game ever
Just watched the highlights if that 0-0 game, the treatment Ruud got was ridiculous, Vieira trying to kick him, Keown with a forearm and everybody pushing him all over the shop.
Ronaldo looked a right gimp getting involved with the likes of Keane, Vieira, Keown ect
