they wld sell...but the boy wld opt for utd...if they come in....imo.
i think coentrao will end up at utd, and shaw at chelsea.
arent newcastle after RIchards??
the formation and style we're playing at the moment relies so heavily on overlapping full backs/wing backs. Beggars belief how we let Benny go
Fabio Coentrao/Richards won't leave
Shaw just signed a new contract

Sauce?
Shaw would leave for us imo.. they don't have to sell though.
Shaw signing a new contract is to ensure Southampton get a good price for him.
He is better off going to a team that will play on a regular basis, therefore not Chelsea or City in my book.
United possibly, however I would think that ourselves & Arsenal would suit him better in terms of time on the pitch.
Take Richards right away - great player
Shaw looks like he'd suit us superbly
So them to please
GG he's a Saints lad through and through, why would he leave them? they're playing excellent football and deserve to be where they are
THUDD...................................I get what you are saying, however see where they are at the end of the season or even next year? I do agree however that they are playing well at present.
If we can get back to winning & get CL football then it is different & more interesting option for him going forward.
just signing a contract is meaningless other than potentially adding to the xfer fee
Richards is a frustrating player, he has the athleticism and urgency in his play which so really give him an edge but he never really developed the subtleties of the game with experience.
Shaw I rate hugely but would be very surprised if Tottenham could pull that off, personally I think he’ll be Cole’s successor at Chelsea but think we’ll face completion from United too, he is a Chelsea fan which might help. I could also see a major club from the continent taking a look at him too.
I can see you getting Pereira who is a quality player and preserving with Walker at right back.
is Shaw any different to Danny Rose?
If anything I think Danny Rose can be better if he works on a few things
No thanks to Richards. We already have one headless chicken in Walker to develop in that position
Walker and Richards seem to be doing a lot of the same things.. They both play in pretty much the same way. They like to use thier power and speed instead of using positional sense to help them out during games. They both think going in the gym and pushing weights will help them become better players. Richards blew himself up to a ridiculous size when he first broke into the City team. Thats when he started getting injuries and he's not been since then. Zabaleta is a far better RB than him.

Yes he came through their academy but he's from Kingston and supports Chelsea, not sure I'd call that saints through and through. He'll leave at some point.

Yes!
I couldn't disagree more Mr C. I'm not alone either..

Richards - high potential when he burst onto the scene. Used his pace and sheer power to rectify any mistakes he made, but that was in 2007. Should now be at an age where he's developed his defensive skills, but he's not really kicked on to the expected level.
Coentrao - not been overly impressed when watching him at Madrid. Not too sure about that one
Shaw - no way. Good prospect but we want proven quality. Besides he's destined to be at the centre of a man utd/Chelsea bidding war
Hmmm.. I dont know. Never really been that impressed with Micah. He does get noticed because of the lung busting forward runs he makes. He is a physical beast but is a better RB than Zabaleta..?City fans know more about the two of them than me though.
Pereira is abysmal.
Shaw is a Chelsea fan, so non-starter.
Richards injury prone.
Coentrao same as Richards.
