If he and Welbeck were to be moved on at the end of the season with the likes of Young, Anderson, Giggs and Rio I doubt you would hear many complain.

he can keep the ball moving in midfield well... which is a good thing...but will never be able to take a game by the scruff of the neck and determine results on his own at PL, CL or obviously WC level. He will be a good honest PL player at best. Dont think he will be ever the answer to Uniteds MF requirements, long term.

I honestly don't think he is that bad.

He's great

He's good. Pretty much sums him up.

Useful player to have.

Well that's it. He's a good PL player. That's about it.

He's 'good', but you'll never see him excell or produce game changing performances, for good or bad. So he's a bit above his level at United imo. Like fellaini, he will look even better at a lesser club, like Newcastle perhaps.

but he is never going to be another Crerand, Robbo, Whiteside, Wilkins, Incy, Keano, Veron, Scholsey, Carrick....

Well he's the only player that can get the best out of Wilshere. But he's not international standard. But if it means Welbeck won't go to WC, I'd be happy to take him as replacement.

Do you think it's practical to have 22 world class players in our squad?

Cleverley isn't the answer to our midfield problems but as long as he can come in when requires and do a good job, surely he's worth having in the squad.

Good player and currently our 2nd best CM.

Says more about the midfield SAF left us than Cleverley.

Carrick, Cleverley and Wilshere in a midfield 3 would be my choice as they all keep possession well and that will be key in the heat of Brazil. That wont happen though. I just hope Gerrard doesn't go too crazy with the Hollywood balls or our lads will be knackered.

The guy is very good at keeping the ball. Other than that he offers very little. He's a good player and I agree he's kind of underrated.

Does Wilshere keep possession? Keeps running into players from what I've seen

He's a very good player to have if you need to control a midfield by keeping the ball and ticking the game over [partnered with Carrick]. He's performed in some big games, such as the Chelsea and Liverpool one and I believe with the arrival of Fellaini, he's beginning to shine out more due to the qualities he has that Fellaini doesn't.

Mr Chelsea, he 'bossed' Barcelona that one time,. Don't question his ability!!

Yes he' good at that. Keeping the ball IS football. Especially at International level. Therefore he is a valuable asset to united and England. If England can retain the ball in the heat of Brazil we could actually win it!!!!

But i doubt we will. Keep giving it away

Elvis - I agree Carrick, Cleverley and Wilshere in a midfield 3 would be the midfield to go with. I just pray Woy realises it.

He does usually. Not been at his game so far this season, but he has the class and will return to form with some more games under his belt.

Cleverly does keep possession but offers little penetration. So Carrick needs to step up. Unsure of Wilshere at the moment

Dark that game was so long ago, all I remember is Barcelona going through to the next round.

No chance. Gerrard is his captain and will start every game. To be fair he has played pretty well under Roy

No chance, Gerrard is the captain and Lampard takes tons of shots and sometimes scores from them, so they will be the preferred midfield.
