I disagree. It's more of an ironic statement. Think of the way Ricky Gervais acts.

I watching all his other videos. He doesn't go out to annoy people. It's more of a bi-product of his humour. He's a radio host in Canada and actually agreed to meet someone who had taken issue with him. Only for the other person to tell him he wouldn't want to meet him anyway.

And I don't find his tone boring or annoying. Personal taste I guess.
