if portugal get knocked out by sweden, we could maybe put in a cheeky bid for Ronaldo

I just don't think you have the money really.

However, you look at the next two set of fixtures and you should be back in the mix as some of the top four are guaranteed to drop points.

If Stoke somehow get a result though.....

If we don't beat Stoke then I'd be very fearful for Moyes's future.

i dont agree with this, and i dont buy that the Glazers didnt back Moyes in the transfer market, we offered €30m for Herrera, €40m for Khedira and spent £28m on Fellaini

I'm not confident going into any game right now.

Nobody is.

Socieded have just come off an awful spell with a few good results so they will be full of beans.

Stoke won't be pushovers. They never are.

It's a make or break week for Moyes. He badly needs two morale boosting wins.

not just wins, we need performances

realistically in january it will be tough to get players but it is possible

we could well go back for coentrao and herrera. i want coentrao but dont know much about herrera.

Luke shaw could be an option too. dont think we will go back for baines

I hope moyes invests in a CB though, needed one in the summer really.

Who is this top CB though?

posted on 21/10/13

Not too sure to be honest but we do need one, i do not think we will get a CB in January though but we should in the summer if rio is leaving

Eliaquim Mangala from Porto, beast, quick, strong, good on the ball, quality player

heard very good things about him, hardly seen him play though

Why do we need a cb, we have Evans Smalling and jones who are more than capable.
I think Carrick is our problem, he's so good he can't be dropped but with him in the team I don't think we will ever press teams in the middle.
I reckon fellaini was bought to replace carrick.
we need a new left back, a couple of good centre mids and maybe a new winger.
nani seems to be playing ok at the moment and creating chances and januzaj on the left is quality.

Although if we had 3 in the middle, two energetic players with Carrick it could be different.
fellaini and Carrick is a disaster.

still think we need one more CB, Evans for me isnt always reliable and smalling seems to be getting many niggling injuries.

Agree on this point though, not his fault but he does limit us a little

The problem with united is overdependence on flawed players. Beginning of the season, here are 3 players everyone would say has to be pivotal to the team, vidic, carrick and rooney. Vidic and carrick for all their good means a low defensive set up, rooney is far from a reliable passer and/or creator. The team starts out with inherent flaws which other players have to overcome. Guess what our problems are as a team? Low line leading to losing of midfield battles and clinicality at attacking third. The cause of these problems are largely unbenchable players.

We do not need fans and most importantly managers seeing players as undroppable. Carrick is a midfielder who is almost unpairable with... Honestly. His lack of pace and inability to close down is completely against the requirements for a 4-4-2 midfield. This is inarguable and not getting better with age.

we shouldnt be playing 4-4-2 redas, carrick would be even better in a midfield 3 IMO

comment by Wayne and Robin. Get rid of Young, Giggs, Welbeck, Evra, Anderson. Absolutely useless players in our squad whose contributions arent any bigger than the tea lady (U17937)

We should have signed Paulinho in summer or at least tried to get Dembele or Sandro from Spurs

You'll get no more bargains from Spurs im afraid. Carrick and Berba was your lot.

Again, that logic is based on carrick being irreplaceable, not getting the best players for the style we play.

Even if Moyes makes an effective tactical move from what he normally plays and carrick plays brilliantly in the formation what of everyone else? Rooney who from watching him at all levels has only truly been his best in the role he plays now will have to alter his position or rvp will have to move. The(re) emergence of adnan and nani could make the formation work but back ups like valencia, welbeck do not possess the versatility to back up the position. One key thing in a 3 man midfield is the creative hub. That silva, oscar, sneijder role which makes it work.

If we are going to change our style, let it come with new management who knows the style. We cannot have moyes learning on the job.

We still have Vidic and 2 very good CB's in the u21's

Everybody was wanting to buy a left footed winger. Patience has seen us now not particularly needing one
