Sort of agree, but maybe he needs more time.
WTF did we buy Balde for?
Lennon has a knack of signing lay off Strikers and not poachers
Stokes was a perfect foil for Hooper but with Hoopet leaving all Lennon did was sign replacements for Stokes' role ie Balde and Pukki
It was same last year with Lassad and Miku
In a nutshell, Mr Murney.
No
Stokes is great at his job
He will get about 20 goals a season but he is the ideal player for a poacher who thrives out of the six yard box pouncing on Stokes work
Joe
Did you get that book?
No team in Europe plays a 'poacher'
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Mario Gomez comes to mind
Pukki is a quality signing for you IMO. He needs more time as he is actually the only Finish Striker in your squad so I believe.
Him and Boerrigter are both top class signings for you, just give them time and they'll prove you wrong for sure.
Not yet Murney.. getting it on Friday Payday !
Teemu deserves a bit more time to settle in to his new club, team mates, surroundings and country - as I have already said tonight we should have signed Alfie F in the summer but that's not Pukki's fault.
Agree with Stevie. Don't think Pukki has had enough game time to properly settle. Think he will score goals but will not be as influential in the team as Hooper was.
Iceman's price was quoted as £6m+. Out of our price bracket though we did try to get him on the cheap.
It's our style of play that's mince, not Pukki.
Hooper is also horrendously over rated by Celtic fans, he's a Championship level striker.
Nearly a goal a game for the best team in Europe yet they still sold him on because he wasn't the type of player to take them forward
------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, didn't realise they sold him.

Boerrigter was a sick note at Ajax. I can only remember him being on the bench in one game I watched. He probably is a good player, unfortunately he's never fit enough to play.

Pukki was never a direct replacement for Hooper anyway. I am hopeful Celtic will make a move in Jan for a more prolific goalscorer. I see West Ham and Newcastle have been linked with Finbogosson.

Pukki's got himself a couple of goals, and Balde's got one having played about a total of 15 minutes.
Give them a chance
