Whether or not Moyes is the right guy only time will tell but i'd bet my last dollar that no other manager would have come in and been amazingly better
============================================

im not saying they would, but i doubt we'd have only won 3 games all season, 3 games

There's no doubting that the tough start has been a factor and hasn't allowed us to get any form together.

Look at the fixtures.

Swansea - we drew there last season.
Chelsea - we lost that last season
Liverpool - we won there last season but lord knows how. Plus Liverpool are better this season.
Palace - we won.
City - They are better than last year and the games can go either way with them, even under Sir Alex - 6-1 for example.
West Brom - a bad day at the office but they still scored 5 goals past us last season so aren't a pushover.
Sunderland - won there with an own goal last season.
Saints - could very easily have drawn that same game last season.

Would Sir Alex or Mourinho won more than 3 games? Possibly but it would be 4 or 5 game MAX IMO.

its not even the lack of wins, its the performances, we're even more boring than last season, and the performances are getting worse throughout the season not better, we started alright and have gotten worse and worse and worse

Barf

but psychologically I think its had an impact SAF not being in charge.

This i agree with

the last thing we needed IMO was someone similar to sir alex, because he could never be sir alex

I know what you're saying but I don't remember us being that much better last year.

There was always going to be a hangover when Mr United retired and the players who were like robots under him now have to serve a new master.

The good news is that there are plenty of rainbows in the horizon.

We may very well have Shaw or Baines as a left back from January. Moyes blatantly wants another CM and will go balls out to get one. Also, we have decent youth players coming through and if Januzaj had no faith in Moyes he would have left so we at least know that a top young player believes in the manager.

And we've done well in Europe and if we win on Wednesday against a poor Sociedad team we will have one foot in the next round.

I was saying to my dad the other day if you look at the players on the bench now to a few years back, we lack the class we used to have that could come on and chage games for us

the CL performances have been encouraging i'll admit, but we're still miles away

i said all summer our squad was poor and full of players who aren;t good enough at the very top, we could get rid of about 7 players and it wouldnt make a difference if we replaced them with the young reserves

One player who really impressed me on Saturday was Morgan Schneiderlin. He pressed like a boss and was very capable with the ball.

Interestingly he's been with Saints since they were relegated to league 1 and stayed with them all the way through their rise to the top.

Bit of a sweeping statement though. I could equally say IF Rooney and RVP scored with their shots we would have won quite comfortably.

Tactically we were spot on in the first half. We played a 4-2-3-1 with Carrick and Fellaini being pressed (which we all knew would happen because that's how Saints play) but in doing that they leave massive gaps at the back which we benefitted from on a few occasions.

Unfortunately we didn't take our many chances and paid for it.

Annoyingly that late Saints goal cost me £990 so as you can imagine I was furious.

If we were to miss out this season on CL, then next season top 4 is a definite must, 3rd season I'd expect us to be challenging for the league.

I'll make it back tomorrow when the mighty Arsenal beat Dortmund. Still on the fence about whether to back Barcelona at Milan..

He shoukd be given 2yrs, its hard to judge him on a team that we all feel aint good enough at the moment

I said it in an article but Moyes is massively unlucky he took over in a season where there are 6 very good teams going for 4 places.

5th place this year isn't as bad as 5th place last year would have been.

I still reckon we'll finish in the top 4 but it'll be extremely tough.
