he is definitely better than fellaini and would of suited us better but we could still get better players, would of been a good signing though
Think it's fair to say that Fergie was a fan, even if he didn't actually try to sign him after all the speculation. Maybe Moyes isn't or doesn't know much about him.
Every time I see clips of him, he reminds me of a young Roy keane. People lazily label keano as a thug and not a footballer but Roy Keane was a tremendous footballer as well that he didn't always get the deserved credit for.
You seem to be missing a lot of tricks ala Pogba, Lopez etc.
So is Manchester, other than the dreadful weather. Great city that is booming right now.
It hasn't got ancient ruins, fair enough, but I don't think ancient ruins are top of the wishlist for young footballers anyway, do you?
Wish we had signed him though. Looks perfect for the system Moyes looks to be favouring. Ideal partner for Carrick.
It was all about fabergas, and when we didnt get him fellaini was a last minute panic buy. There was also probably something that put moyes off strootman

Unless he said something or went to watch him, you're assuming due to media stories.

Rooney's visited a few ancient ruins during his time in Manchester...

Based on the ultimate scale of being better than fellaini, they yes. But he is not spectacular. Roma has good system going which amongst other things make midfielders look good.
For example pjanic is a player who has played at a faster tempo in france and is much more experienced, technical and mobile than strootman and would have been similarly priced or worth paying 27 million for.
Strootman's problem for me was always his tempo. He seemed like he was always playing slower than his teammates in the junior euro tournament. His performance in roma has not shown this to be different, though they do play at a tempo closer to his game.
I don't know if many have been watching roma on their wonderful undefeated run and what they think? They are making castaways and over the hill players look decent. It says something about good coaching and using players rightly being better than all the talent laden teams.
Stretford_Ender85,
I've been to Rome and I work in Manchester. There is no comparison whatsoever. Rome sh-ts all over it
I've been to Rome all crappy old ruins and no Arndale. It's shiyte.

Seems like every time a half decent player moves teams and does reasonably well we have missed a trick. We as fans cant expect the club to be monitoring pr interested in every player that we'd like them to buy. You could argue we missed a trick with Strootman, but on that same basis you could say we missed out on Cabani or Falcao this summer.
I dont think we missed a trick witb Strootman. He was nowhere near as good in/for Holland as his reputation suggested.
