"We'll be okay in January"

I think we will get a LB, even if it is Coentrão on loan.

This will certainly help tactically (although I think Evra has improved his crossing under Moyes).

maybe the last two games have been the turning point, why wait until January ??

still a long way to go

I mean it really depends on who we would be going for, if we are still struggling by then.

Lots of top class players will have cemented their international place by that point. It's not like if Rooney, RVP, or Suarez left their clubs they'd be at risk of losing their place for the world cup, even if they were being used as a bit part player. Plus a lot of great players won't be going to the world cup or don't start for their teams anyways (mostly the Spanish ones).

Coentrao and a CB would do nicely

Has Coentrao played in the CL yet for La Real?

posted on 26/10/13

No but its not really important. The league is more important at the moment

well obviously

Coentrao has been playing the odd game here and there. Unused sub today though in classico. Seems like Marcelo is back as number 1 choice now Mourinho has gone.

Would be delighted if we could get him in January, but I doubt they will sell him.

Hard to believe that a team that has Ronaldo, Bale, Isco, Modric, Benzema, Di Maria etc to call upon......is most likely going to win NADA once again.

because they dont have a world class CF IMO, Benzema is so inconsistent, if they had an Ibrahimovic, Suarez or a Lewandowski then it may be a different story

It wouldn't. Barca would still be too good for them.

Madrid are paying 100m every other year to fail.

Not really when you consider they've got Barcelona to contend with and also a very good Atletico side now.

Barcelona are collectively a much much better team than Madrid who are really just a team of individuals and star players. They IMO lack the proper balance when all their biggest players play.

I must say I take a lot of pleasure in seeing Madrid fail.

I thought they were better than Barca today to be fair, just got unlucky

posted on 26/10/13

They did, ref was awfull today, one of those who scared by the crowd, Ronny denied a blatant pen at 1-0

what positions is it people think Moyes will be spending to trnsform ts side?

Carrick is going nowhere, Moyes has just paid £27m for Fellaini therefore if we want a new CM it means playing 433 with RVP Rooney and youd think Januzaj fillling the front 3 spots.

I think we will get a CM and mabye a LB.

Papers are saying Baines again. Everton will take us to the cleaners though and fair play to them, why shouldn't they?

Agree that LB is the only position, if any, we will strengthen. Already 4 strikers, 5 CB's & lots of midfielders. I think utd are a bit too loyal to their players. I just can't see us forcing players like young or Anderson out the door.

Can see Young going out on loan at the very least. f he wants to have a chance of making England's 23 man squad (not that I think he deserves it) he needs to be playing and I can't see it happening with us.

Who knows maybe the club will surprise everyone and go and spend mega money they should have spent in summer.

Herrera and Baines would be good moves.

Wouldn't imagine Baines would take that long to adapt to our team.

Herrera might take a while so if we got him in January he might be fully up to speed by start of next season.

We need to spend upwards of 50m to have the slightest chance of doing anything this season.

It does look like the money is there to be spent. I honestly believe the club wanted to back moyes in the summer but obviously made a hash of it.
I just hope the new targets are of real quality. I don't think we can take another bad transfer window. The squad is all ready full of decent but not world class players.
