Yea lot's of rumors going around about TNA is going bust and losing money hand over fist. Wrestler wanting to get paid, not getting new contacts. Won't be surprised if WWE come in and buy TNA within the next 18 months. Changes are being made at TNA like Eric Bischoff works at home and Jeff Jarrett having amore hands on role.
WWE don't need to buy TNA, they have NXT and their wonderful Performance center. If they wanted certain wrestlers from TNA they could just buy them out. I think Viacom will end up buying them because it is their highest rated show.
Would be very shocked if wwe went any where near that crap. Would be less surprised if they bought the chippy down the road from me
I can't think of a single TNA wrestler who would get over in WWE besides Kurt Angle, and he'd be presented as a novelty item similar to Taker and Brock.
Robert Roode could be a low level mid-card guy at a push, Austin Aries would play the same role Punk & Bryan did before they ascended to stardom (i.e. little rebel kid who needs to win WWE officials over). But everybody else would just be fodder, AJ Styles wouldn't amount to anything more than Benjamin did.
Joe and Bubba wouldn't make it through the door.
Jeff & Kennedy would be laughed at just approaching the door
they still pay for that mess jeff hardy?!
I've never really paid much attention to TNA but I do enjoy the "Greatest Matches" programme that's on Challenge.
only reason I watch it is for angle
Still grates me that Angle left the E. Left way too soon.
One of the Greatest Matches shows I saw focused on his feud with Jarrett. I couldn't quite fathom out the back story (maybe the Psychologist would know more?) but there did seem to be genuine heat between them. Some of the matches were stiff in the extreme.
the story was about jarrett being with angles ex wife. which was true in real life
Karen was it? I saw one match where Jarrett left with her and Angle was crying in the ring, think it was a loser retires match or something similar. Was it a proper feud then, or just a really well worked angle (pardon the pun) because I really bought into that match?
yeahm she was meant to have gone with jarrett as soon as she had filled for divorced with kurt, jarrett was given time off from tna. Dunno how much of it was real during the feud. bit like edge and matt hardy
Ah rite, nice one Digby, ties up a few loose ends does that Could have always googled it I guess but like I say, I never really paid that much attention to it.
I remember watching the feud at the time and I looked it up as I was just as confused
What other wrestling promotions are televised these days? I'm sure there others beyond WWE and TNA - ROH springs to mind but I've never seen it on television here in the UK. If the WWE bought TNA, then that would be only the only product available to us (unless I'm wrong about what else is on) - wouldn't that be something of a monopoly?
Hmm, does monopoly ruling even apply here? I have no idea what I'm doing.
A lot of promotions like CZW (where I first was made aware of the brilliance that is Dean Ambrose) and I think ROH were shown on the Wrestling Channel here on Sky before it shutdown for some reason. Really enjoyed watching that.
CZW? Isn't that just a bunch of hairy blokes literally ripping chunks out of each other? Hardly wrestling from what I've seen.
Kurt Angle IMO. Simply put this guy is the best character of all time IMO. The irony of a legit wrestling champ, all American broken neck in the olympics still wins gold, who wears red white and blue, being a heel was brilliant.
Mike
Some people like to point at Rock vs. HBK being 'the feud that got away'. To me that'll always be Kurt vs. Taker - those two had more chemistry in the ring together than anybody

The Cena v Sandow match on Monday night was actually pretty good, if still massively predictable.
