he doesn't have to be foreign. there are a few at Chelsea that we could try and get on loan. Josh McCeachran i think would be nice, and seems to be doing well out on loan in the hustle and bustle of the championship.

We also have Carruthers, who i think is also doing well...

We need some foreign magic in midfield, don't need anymore hustle and bustle which is all our current midfield seem to do without the ability to score. I don't want anyone from The Championship, we're Aston Bl00dy Villa and should be looking at better than that!

why do you need this guy when you have superstars like fabian delph

According to Lambert, Villa did make an enquiry about Kiyotake, but the the answer came back negative. No offer was made. So where does the £10m come from?

To be honest we just need overall better quality players. One playmaker won't make a difference if players like Westwood, Weimann and Baker are playing almost every game. People think these players will somehow improve because they're young but they actually normal age - 22/23/24. Not young. Young is 18/19/20. Players like Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gnabry, Nastasic, Shaw, Lukaku - these are players who are going to improve and are already damn good young players. I can safely say that our so-called "young" players won't improve much if at all.

Even smaller teams like Southampton and Swansea are buying established quality players now like Lovren, Bony and Ozvaldo and mixing that up with shrewd small fee signings like Michu. We've got to start by at least outdoing these two sides who should never ever be above us in the table.

Both Southampton and Swansea have the advantage that they've had several years of steady development, more than 10 years in Swansea's case. They're in a position to make the odd star signing to boost what they already have.

We're trying to recover from the lowest of lows in record time; nobody wants us to spend several years getting to the Swansea/Southampton level. I think we have to go with Lambert's approach. Look at the players he bought in the summer. Any player from Europe is going to take months to adapt; Giroud was last season's flop at Arsenal and is now one of their stars. We have to be patient; it'll take most of this season to see how players like Tonev are working out. Already Luna and Bacuna are bedding in, and they'll get better.

Lambert is as hard headed as they come. Players will get dropped and even sold if they don't measure up. Lowton shows that, although what the problem is there mystifies me. Yes we do need to up the quality. How is up to Lambert.

I think he'll buy somebody in January. It'll probably be a complete surprise to everybody.

Would love us to sign him in Jan

You lot have gone mightily quiet, is realization beginning to dawn?

It was obvious pre-season that we needed a playmaker and agree with you Bumble he was ideal.

January wont bring anyone spectacular in fact I could see Benteke going, ok for a lot of money, but we better have plans in place

plans in place...
Sorry, but even with Benteke you're a sinking ship and without him in January, you will be a submarine on an emergency dive!
Best of luck!

More deluded than Wolves....and thats something.

Just be ridiculous like Spurs with Bale and sell Benteke for over twice his actual value, like £60 million. Then buy six quality players for that money - on centre back, one full back, two central midfielders, one attacking midfield playmaker, one out and out goalscorer.

My choices would be:
.Simon Kjaer
.Jetro Willems
.Adam Maher
.Steven Defour
.Kiyotake
Javier Hernandez

With Benteke on a longer contract it may well happen.

Spurs did well with Bale and really strengthened their squad. They haven't gelled yet and our football is better to watch than theirs

Dont want Benteke to go but with situation may have to

We are in a better position at the moment than last year but we are slipping dramatically and PL needs to sort quickly.

I would have Lowton back at RB and push Bacuna into midfield for one.

We will see AndyGray...
You are seemingly very much a one-man-team at present and need to change that if you've any chance.
I doubt very much that if you sell Benteke in Jan, you will get the price you want, more likely cash+swap, but even if that doesn't 'float yer boat' any players you go after are going to have their price over-inflated.
We will let you have Zig cheap if interested?
Though I would prefer us both in the PL I will happily settle for the Championship for the time being
Good luck!

I forgot it was half-term seedy...
You should be worrying about your own 'big' club rather than our poor 'little' outfit.
You've a billionaire-owner and we've an alleged embezzler-owner, yet both of our clubs are in 'schtuck', hmmmm...
So much for your owner then at least we've an excuse, what's yours?

Kill blouse slowly, please don't compare ur circus with our mighty club.

We r doing fine, we will keep improving under Lambert & like for like results from last year prove this. So despite your desperate desire to see us struggle as you have nothing left down sty Andrews, we will continue on the long road to get back where our wonderful club deserves to be.

Goodbye & good riddance !
