Evans has gone well against Drogba in the past
.....................
Mainly because Drogba was more of a technical player as opposed to someone like Carroll.

Drogba had/has very good technique but he one of his main attributes whilst at Chelsea was his physical presence, his aerial ability, holding the ball up, backing into centre backs. He was brilliant at mixing it up with both styles of play which was why he was so effective.
How often would Evans come against a big lump like Carroll now anyway? Other than WHU and Stoke I can't think of many teams in the Premier League and Champions League who play with a big bulky old fashioned centre forward.
arsenal, spurs and everton all play one old school striker.
His passing isn't that bad. Sometimes he tries the difficult ball when he shouldn't. But that will come with experience.

Yeah I'd agree with that. I guess you forget just how young he is.
I'd like to see Smalling appearing more at CB. He seems more composed on the ball than he does at RB.
Not saying he looks composed on the ball at CB by the way, just more composed than RB.

I think a lot of our fans do.
How many top quality CB's are there in world football that are 21 or younger. Very few, I would guess.
"Evans has gone well against Drogba in the past"
yeah but they still go on about that "high challenge"
i like jones in midfield, i think hes done pretty well in that position. I dont like him at RB though
As for CB he hasnt had much of a run in that position
Still think we need to buy a new CB though and hope rio leaves at the end of the season

Yes very few. Varane at Madrid looks a beast. Can see why SAF went for him.

Not really. Giroud, Soldado and Lukaku have more to their game than physicality, when I think of an old school striker i think of someone whose main attribute is roughing up defenders and not an awful lot else like a Kevin Davies or Shola Ameobi.
