You missed Bendtner
Like watching Van Basten

One fan doesn't represent every arsenal fan. If one fan has an alternative (extreme) view then that fan will get more attention than the thousands of fans with similar views.

Arsenal fans? Just because a few arsenal fans have said something your judging all of us? Thats like me saying all Liverpool fans are deluded after reading a got_better article.

For the record imo Ozil is our only world class player with Koscielny not far off from being world class

AWW

I accept that but it's something that has cropped up a lot on this forum.

Its all about perception, why does it bother you if Arsenal fans label all their players world class?!?!?

A lot of Man Utd fans refuse to accept than Messi is better than Ronaldo, i find that more bizarre.

I had an Arsenal supporting mate who thought Henry was crap cos he missed a lot of chances

Some Spurs fans still wont accept that Theo is better than Lennon, but im ok with it

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, the fact that it bothers you so much should be your only worry.

To be fair, I saw that comment too and shook my head. They are vital players to our squad, no doubt, but none of those aforementioned players are even remotely world-class. Chamberlain has potential to be, as does

all clubs have fans like the one you mention...

beware of sites like this, people who text the BBC and call Talksport etc, as they are normally either very young or not the full shilling.

I know lots of Arsenal fans and other than Ozil they would agree that we do not have WC players at the club currently...

we do however have some very good players, ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla to name a few...

as ever the sqeeky wheel gets the oil

gibbs is world class
ramsey is world class
cazorla is world class
sagna is world class
Szczesny is world class

phhhhha arsenal you really are a bunch of jokers.

Please not another "world class" debate, it's is a stupid term to use to classify a player as it has no universal definition, it is not an agreed yard stick by which players can be judged, so when both the ability of a player, and the definition of world class are entirely subjective you will get his type of hyperbole!

Whoops, didn't finish my comment. Was gonna say Diaby did have potential to be a few years ago, but injuries have hampered what could have been a promising career.

Suarez is NOT world class. Good player but not world class. If I was doing a world 23 he wouldn't be in there.

The opinions of about 2% of a fanbase should be taken as the majority. We are ALL like RGK.

The problem with Sportsday is you'll ALWAYS get one fan that has a contrasting opinion, often they put comments when teams like Arsenal, United etc. are losing saying blah blah player x is terrible etc, and when you're winning player x is world class etc.

It makes fans look fickle but in actual fact it misrepresents them because they show one comment that provides an argument and none of the other thousand that contradict it.

I suspect most fans would agree Ox etc are not world-class players however the definition is always debatable and so you'll never get complete agreement!

Wouldn't judge us all on a comment on bbc sport from one Arsenal fan

Someday

I agree it's a stupid term as it's based on perception but it's something that I've seen overused on this site (like the word deluded) and was curious as to how Arsenal fans perceive it to be.

Ive always belived World class is the ability to perform at the highest level, Champs lge, World cup.

Poldolski before he came to Arsenal in most peoples opinion would be categorized as world class, just cos he hasnt set the premier league on fire shouldn't suddenly change peoples opinion

But for me the only world class players at Arsenal are Ozil & Carzola

@ Man Utd its RVP, Rooney

@ Chelsea its Oscar, Mata, Hazard,

@ Liverpool Suarez

And im talking current status not historic like Torres, Rio, Vidic, Terry, Gerrad etc

posted on 30/10/13

Ozil, Suarez, Aguero, Kompany, Van Persie, Cech, Oscar... maybe a few more.

only a few world class players in the PL.

Suarez is probably the best player in the Premier League right now. If he's not world class then it doesn't say much about the rest of the league.

I'm bored of the term World Class, can we change it to Universal Class?

posted on 30/10/13

World Class is a stupid meaningless term, generally used way too much by people. I must admit, I assumed it was used too much by fans of all clubs - but since most of the conversations I have are about Arsenal, you may be right and it's just some of our fans that are stupid. But I doubt it. King of the Bridge there has put my mind at ease a little on that one.
