When will these experienced managers learn that a good midfield covers a multitude of sins?

You can have a solid defence and a goalscorer, but always be under pressure and rarely create anything if you have a bunch of cloggers in the middle.

Depends on your football style i guess.

If you like slick passing and quality on the ball you will likely see midfield as a key area, if you like to just get stuck in and grind away then not so much.
