In hindsight....you'd let him through on goal...if he scores....still plenty of time in the game and still 11 v 11.

Mertesacker was just braindead. You don't make a guaranteed red card tackle at that point of the game, just to avoid going 1 goal down. Going 1 goal down after 20 minutes is bad but still miles better than being a man down for 70 minutes.

I'm watching on NJM soccer, Andy Townsend is commentating, he's gone from 'Great decision, ridiculous challenge from mertesacker' to 'was it a red or a yellow, I'm not so sure' to 'I think that's harsh I can't see any contact'
