Uphill struggle for them now, but after seeing Skulason sent off after 50 minutes they will be relieved.

Thought Johnson played well, both defensively and in offence. Rooney was decent, although not had much to work with. Did well with the ball. Wilshere shown flashes. Lallana looking like he really wants it, working hard and generally done well. Jones been really good.

There haven't really been any standout performances, the system doesn't seem to be working and perhaps the Chile players are correct, England are too soft. Time to grow some balls and make an impact on the game.

He;s not crap - he shows flashes. He's had pretty poor form so far this season though. he's looked good sporadically so far tonight.

He is not 100% fit the whole season. No excuse but its a fact.

If Gerrard and Lampard can despite un convincing performances, why can't Jack?

I would play Wilshere even if he is only at 80%, worth taking the risk as he's the best we've got,he brings out the best in Gerrard and Carrick too.

Fair point, though Gerrard is still good enough and is having a fairly good season.

It's a friendly, this is a time to try out our the team. Wilshere won't play against Germany so I dont see what the problem with him playing

I didn't watch it RVP - it wasn't on. Hopefully better than his last couple of games though.

I know we're supposed to be going with a 'new team' in Brazil - but Carrick and Gerrard have been excellent.

Surely Wilshere playing now is playing people on reputation?

He's a very good player though but loses the plot with all the crap around him.
