Best thing for City to do would be to finish as low down the table as possible to avoid Europe, then do what Chelsea and Liverpool are doing next season. They would easily win the league with their squad and no Europe.

Difference is, the other top teams improved when the European fixtures stopped (United and Spurs in particular) whereas City have gotten worse

you'll just end up so far away from competing with europe's best, the longer you spend out of the competition.

champions used to be great when it was utd arsenal chelsea liverpool... we were actually feared when it came to the draw. nowadays they all just lol at us.

Next 2 transfer windows are big for both of them

I'm not too sure it's just the defence that's the issue as I do think our midfield and forwards don't do anywhere near enough on the defending from the front which puts undue pressure on a confidence sapped back line

Put the exact same thing earlier today, it's not the defence. We should have had two in the first ten minutes, it's pressing and conversion of chances.

Navas and Itchy Nacho replaced by Silva and Aguero, good subs.

They'll obviously still lose games while not having Europe, and a lot of this is to do with Pep not having his best team sorted. A second season with no distractions will allow him to do that.
