Yeah I agree. City's squad is not as good as people make out.
The spine of their team is bloody exceptional, though.
I don't know what they were thinking in summer 2012 though- Rodwell, Sinclair, Garcia etc?
City could do with a top quality LB and CB that's for sure, they have more then good enough attacking options and if they could keep those key 4 players fit for 38 games I think they would stroll to the league title.
"If Messi scored this...."
Shut up Merson.
I think Nastasic could be World Class, but I am unsure how the injury could affect him.
They'll buy another striker and midfielder as well. Maybe two cb's because Lescott is off.
City will probably spend quite big again this summer in doing so.
I wonder if they might go for Costa? Negredo is a good player but I think they could upgrade on him in the first team.
City could well go for Costa, just simply because they can sort of do with an upgrade on Negredo, but it'd also be a massive boost to them to see Chelsea and to a lesser extent Arsenal miss out on him.
Yeah that's kind of my thinking. They should have bought Suarez instead of Jovetic and Negredo.
I don't think he'd leave Liverpool for them now, and I don't think Liverpool would sell him either - last summer I reckon it would have been different.
I am not 100% sure Pellegrini will be there next season if City do not win the league, I'd imagine so, but not certain. Would be a disgrace if he is sacked right enough.

Surely City need to start considering FFP? Will they be able to spend big?

It depends how tough FFP is on them. If they're going to get a €250,000 fine or something like that- it's well worth continuing to spend highly and chase as many trophies as you can.
I am not sure they are as far behind with FFP as people believe- they could also free up some wages too this summer.
Is Costa really an upgrade on Negredo?
I think he will. He was brought in to oversea a transition in style, don't forget, so I'd be surprised if he's sacked after one season - especially with the Barca boys in charge, as they can quite obviously see the direction he's taking them.
I'm just certain that Pellegrini has been brought in to build the groundworks of this new City team and that Pep will takeover in a few years.
All the signs point that way. The City board strike me as having a vision for the club rather than being another Chelsea, sadly.
At least with Mourinho around it'll make it harder for them to dominate the league.
City will be fine with FFP. They can spend big every summer as they have really high revenues, and when selling players they make money back as well.
Pel will win the Champions League and then return home to El Madrigal to retire.
More chance of winning the CL with Villarreal.
Had Riquelme scored that penalty, we could have gone on and won it!
Riquelme is a fat loser with body odour
I know he was a bit of a when he left, but I still love him.
Yeah Arsenal fluked that semi.
I was simply quoting school of rock. He was awesome.
