Henderson isn’t a great player. He does a job in a team that plays through its full backs. His role in the team is relatively limited but what he’s required to do, he does very well. And he’s a great character/leader.
But drop him into this England team and you start to see his limitations.
Would our midfield look so much better by adding him in tonight? No.
Hes overhyped by Liverpool fans, I think.
All of this is my opinion, and have taken more time to specifically watch him over the past 12 months, given the debates around him.
People are entitled to disagree of course.

The biggest issue isn’t the individual performances. They have all done about as well as you could imagine in the system.
The issue is we are playing wingbacks with two players who aren’t especially suited to that position. 3CBs and 2 facking DMs. Literally 3 attacking players on the pitch, more negative than Pulis.
Southgate should have gone such a long time ago he is going to waste such a talent pool.

The problem is dreadful movement off the ball in midfield.
Watched Italy against the Netherlands yesterday and they tore us apart with movement in midfield.

It isn’t really. You should expect two midfielders who sit deep week in/week out to run about the shop. The two fullbacks aren’t exactly lightening quick to help with movement. Thus you are relying on three players to do all the attaching and movement. Very obviously dumb.
