Only thing with Potter is how he would handle the egos and pressure of a far bigger club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's the only concern

Otherwise in terms of modern day coaching he's up there with the very best, the Brighton side is clear evidence of that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah there's no question his tactics and philosophy is great, it's how you get players on board with that. Easier to do at a club lower down that isn't going anywhere with no pressure, and players not used to winning stuff.

Think you have to be very confident and have a real winner's mindset to succeed at a big club. I don't know how much that applies with Potter either, without knowing him personally.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Definitely

You need strong personalities to quell dissenting voices. In SAFs time the manager had many foot soldiers like Keano, Gary Neville, Giggs, drumming the manager's ideas, emphasing the the importance of the collective team etc.

Keano gave an interesting insight on SKY today that many players weren't sure about SAFs coaches but the likes of him quelled any dissent from within

A winning dressing room needs more than a good manager in order to buy into an idea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You need to be prepared to take no shiiit as a manager of a big club, and have players like that too. Doesn't seem like either is going on at United.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ole's deathknell was sealed when CR7 signed, a number of players stopped doing what they do best. They expect wins without putting the shift in.

Not saying we were a cohesive team even before CR7. The signs of trouble was there. A side that only gets going when behind showed we were clueless as a team with over reliance on individuals and moments. But performance levels have dropped massively for the likes of Bruno this season.

With every goal concesssion, every mistake, every mis pass, every thrashing the dressing room is being lost. Once it's fully lost then it will be curtains. Should be curtains for Ole now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Ronaldo situation is the sort of situation that's too big for Ole to handle. Then again I wonder how someone like Potter would handle it.

It was a vanity / nostalgic signing. In hindsight, a signing that's effectively derailed our season

Or maybe, the law of diminishing returns was due to set in with players more or less overdue to finally lose faith in Ole and his baffling approach to matches.

The squad now see Ole as fully clueless and have stopped trying

The funny thing is when he tried taking Ronaldo off that one match, which may be the right course of action to take (using him more sparingly), the stuff Fergie said after may well have condemned Ole to use Ronaldo all the time now.

He looks doomed either way.
