Southgate, is the most successful manager I’ve seen for England. Give him the W/C, he’s earned it.
Then sack him. And then give the job to Eddie Howe.

Southgate gets a lot of heat, but he’s still better than Sven. That man had it all on a plate, and put Scholes on the left.
Not the worst manager, but when you look at what he had. The FA let him get away with murder.

I don't believe he is better than Sven at all. I guarantee you if he was managing back then he'd have Lampard and Gerrard playing together too, as he isn't smart enough to change it up. Plus he's had all the luck that Sven never had - easy qualifying groups, easy draws, and no major injuries.

Well there's nothing hypothetical about him having more luck. I mean that is a fact. Give Sven this team, these draws and a home tournament and he'd do no worse. Pickford does not get enough credit either, he's our best keeper since Seaman and if Sven had him back then instead of James or Robinson I'm sure we'd have won at least one of those pen shootouts.

Sven would still be playing Rooney.

The players he had at his disposal were vastly superior.

Of all the English teams to base the national team on, he picks Mourinho of Tottenham. Liverpool, Man City, Brighton, Bielsa's Leeds nah, Burnley ball will do.

Was this an Italy B-team? Of the starters plus subs, only Donnarumma was a regular in the Euros. Barely even recognize the entire team other than Pellegrini, Locatelli, Florenzi and Di Lorenzo.

England has not scored more than one goal against Italy in a competitive match in 45 years
