Think you have to look at the nations schedule for each league and see the issues that advantage some teams more than others.
It is more prevalent in the Europa, as the top teams in the CL tend to have squads to cope with fighting on all fronts.

Why so arrogant Robb? And what exactly do you know about the quality of the Ukrainian league, how often do you watch it?
All I know is that it's ranked 8th in Europe, and that they DID have 2 EL semifinalists not all that long ago - and a champion.
Shakhtar, Dynamo, Kharkiv and now Dnipro have all had good or decent European campaigns in the not too distant past.
Apart from the homegrown talent they've traditionally churned out at a respectable rate, in recent years they've also unearthed quite a few gems from elsewhere. Yaya Toure, for example, played there in his early 20s.
