I agree that given his reputation most people expected more from balotelli but to call him rubbish is ridiculous. For my money Falcao has looked worse & I can't say the knee injury is bothering him as he looks fit & hardworking.

He just needs more games to get his rhythm back. It may even take 2 years. We might see the same thing with Sturridge.

I think most good forwards have to be judged in context to the team setup and how they play to his strengths. Exactly the Giroud situation who many would have traded any striker for this summer.

Same way Ibra was laughed at by the British press until they actually watched him play. Same thing with those that have a go at benzema but don't appreciate that the team is built to Ronaldo's strengths not his hence he has to get the ball from deep.

Same thing that also put the skids on rooneys development into a top top striker

Gotta disagree about Ballotelli. The guy has never shown any consistency to his play anywhere he's gone. He has some talent but not as much as he or anyone else thinks and doesn't seem as dedicated to improving himself as he should be.

The fact he's Italian and not some English similarly talented player leads me to assume he's been given second and third chances just because people think they can coach him to reach his potential.

It's very likely he's at his best. There is no potential to reach.
