Spot on Dawn, but Genius can also have his opinion, and this is it.
Genius fully agree
"it is Monday here!"
Are you in ANZ, or are you an insomniac ??
TBF Paulinho could do more.
Pros
1. Great late runs into the box
2. Decent goal threat
3. Has played a few decent thru balls in and around the box.
Cons
1. Takes to many touches in the middle.
2. Slows down the already slow pace at which we play
3. Always chooses the safe backward pass even when a simple forward pass is on.
He's brazilian and just gotten through his first couple of months in England, so will only get better.
Of all our signings he's the only one to have earned his corn thus far... but like I said: could do better
Genius
Are you in the Tardis or something similar.
But to say that people should think before they press the send button is a bit off because they have thought and given us their opinion. We don't know what's in each others minds do we so we can't think "Oh, somebody might not agree with my opinion on Paulinho so I won't press the send button." People press the send button because they have thought about what they're going to post and if it differs well that's football.
100% agree.
Paulinho is the only of the new signings who has been a definite success thus far. Amazing how he's adjusted so quickly to the prem when players as talented as Lamela haven't yet.
But to keep to the subject I agree about Paulinho, I'm mostly happy with him.
I think Paulino, Dembele and Sandro are the reasons why we are where we are. they keep the heat from the backsidess of our defence. with anyone of them we would be in the bottom 3.
Morning guys........I am currently in Auckland & just off out to do some explore with the other half.
Dawn.........opinions are of course personal. However they should at least be merited and based on fact.
As others have said, Paulinho is one of the reasons we are high up the table. I am sorry but for people to berate him saddens me.
Paulinho made a great run into the box in the 2nd half, but Vertonghen delayed the pass to him.
If he'd scored and we'd won 1-0 noone would be moaning about him
RDBD.........we come to NZ every few years, other half has family there in Hawkes Bay. Lovely country to explore.
Hi Sandy, after a 10 hour flight yesterday from Bangkok, the Tardis would have been most welcome!
Watched the Hull cup match at 2.30am live in our hotel in Bangkok. Think we were a tad lucky, but came back well.
Paulinho was very decent up to the cardiff game, where apart from scoring a vital and skilfull goal at the death, he contributed next to nothing. He was just as bad in the next 3, including west ham where he put in one of the worst performances in a spurs shirt of the last 10 years, well below the standard of any game palacios had.
His motor's great, and he gets in some very good positions, but his touch is poor, his decision making's poor, his shooting's poor and his passing's average.
AVB seems to have him down as undroppable, but he needs to improve to merit that status imo.
Nothing like a bit of complete over-exaggeration to get the week under way
I've generally thought that he's been very good. He offers a genuine offensive threat from midfield whilst allowing us to maintain a very strong midfield pairing which is very difficult to breakdown.
I actually feel that one of his weaknesses is that he seems to tire as the match goes on, though perhaps this is due to the quantity of matches he's been playing.
Which is of course why we have substitutes!
