No, he's not. Sigurdsson is an average player with a good shot and decent eye for goal. Like watching Nolan play on the wing. Holtby is a superior, better cultured footballer.

You are wrong, as always.
Siggy's not the answer behind the striker I'm afraid, but neither is Holtby. Eriksen is probably being benched at the moment for doing very little of note in his last few appearances but he should be the long term option here. i think AVB's opting for Holtby for his work rate and tenacity but he isn't offering much in the way of carving open defences

Seconded
Sigurdsson's goal threat is another reason to play him, in a team struggling to score goals.
He is under-rated IMO.
I like Sigurdsson but im really struggling to think of a memorable performance he has made in the No.10 role. Most of his good performances have come when he has played on the left wing.
Super Tottenham
I am struggling to remember a game he has played the #10 role, so it's a bit unfair to say that.
That's probably a fair point Edbo.
However he did have the number 10 spot at the beginning of last season but failed to make it his own, though admittedly he was new to the club so it wouldn't be fair to judge him too harshly on those performances. Since then though he's also started there in Europe and some cup matches I think, but again hasn't really impressed.
As I said before I do like Sigurdsson but I don't think he's suited to the no.10 role. His strengths for me are his shooting rather than his passing and creativity and so for this reason I think he's best utilised as a sort of wide forward. I think he'll do really well when Rose comes back and adds some width to our game.
it should have been siggy instead of lennon.
bring on lennon maybe later in the game when everton were tiring.
lennon offers very little these days unfortunately

yeah agree with this, Lennon is never gonna offer much from the left tho is he
Playing Siggy on the left does nothing to hide the fact that using inverted wingers has only helped us have a million shots, hardly anything positive has come from inverted wingers, the wingers are not scoring and are not even thinking about creating chances, i say go back to wingers playing on their natural sides and if anything, go inverted to mix it up later in the game.
Still can't figure out why Lennon's starting on the left.
Anyone?
no idea. the best place for lennon is on the bench I think
They are both good players to have in our squad.
If we could merge them into one player, we'd have an awesome midfielder
As is, Holtby is the better of the 2 IMO, but needs to add a few more goals to his game.
I'm glad his getting plenty of PL minutes
Can't remember too many occasions that siggy played as the number 10 - after he'd found his feet at spurs, so hard for me to call that one.
I like holtby, but for me he's a CM not a number 10. Not quite seen the guile and creativity from him that I look for in that role, again this might be unfair as this was mainly last season when he was settling into the role
