Oh my God yet another fcking negative article about a Spurs player. What is it with you lot, no wonder players just up it and leave Spurs with all the criticism they receive. Give it a rest FFS. It is only 3 months into the season, and Spurs are doing just fine.

Oh shut it people are allowed to offer thier opinions on players thats what these forums are for, just because they are Spurs players don't mean I have to rate them and be happy with what they have produced on the pitch. I am supporting him I go to games and cheer him on but he has not done it for me so far but would be more than happy for him to prove me wrong.

I've been happy with Soldado.

Good link up play and scored some vital goals

The way we're set up at the moment Ibra/RVP/Suarez etc would struggle to score goals.

I also know what a good player he was at Vaencia. We'll have to adapt to get the best out of him, but we will become more expansive in time (I hope).

I am very happy. I know it is a forum, but I cannot believe all the negative articles and bolllllox about a lot of the new Spurs players after just 2 or 3 months of the season, especially with the start Spurs have made to the season in all competitions. Do they really expect Soldado to be scoring a hat-trick every match, they should be thankful he has put away 3 penalties to secure 9 points already this season, bearing in mind the dreadful penalty takers of the Past (Keane excepted) Spurs have had.

All these negative articles are sesiously starting to piiiiissss me off big-time.

are ya tho sandy? I'm happy with the points but every game I watch I'm coming away thinkin fack me we are riding our luck here. Im hoping we are gonna start playing soon. ATM we are going through the motions suffocating teams with posession football but playing completely within ourselves.

Cant say I'm happy with it myself its all just a bit meh atm

Tbf, he didnt have the best of games yesterday. We all go on about his finishing but he co.cked up that Lennon cross, Holtby cut-back, and that volley he had outside the box.

Played a sweet pass for Vertonghen (which should have been a penalty) though.

I think he's a good player but not suited to the PL or our style of play particularly. You'd expect him to be able to adapt for 25m though

Each to their own I suppose, but having seen all the Spurs great teams of the past play brilliant football and win trophies, the past 10 years has seen Spurs play some good football and win SFA. At last we seem to have a manager that may be taking us back to winning some silverware, albeit slighter duller than Spurs fans are used to. I can live with that though.

ah of course mate, I dont think anyone will complain if we win something. But from looking at the games and looking at the players you surely can see that we are SO close to having a brilliant team. Its just frustrating when we have so much of the ball that we allow the opposing team so much time to get back into formation and defend against us. Its not a massive thing but with a small tweak we could see great rewards. I'm not actually complaining too much to be honest but I think its harsh to call people negative for just chatting about what they're seeing every week?

Soldado isn't the problem. We're too narrow and we don't create enough. Here's a good article on it by Robbie Savage, would you believe...

With the way we are set up we should have gone all out for either Benteke/ Lukaku.

Yup.

Surely you can see the difference between a youth player and an established first team player Chicken? And Defoe and Adebayor had their chances last season, and didn't deliver. Hence why Soldado was signed. I think he should be given a fair crack of the whip. I don't know why everyone seems to be hell bent on Adebayor returning so soon. He didn't return to training until not long ago, and needs to prove himself just as much as anyone else. People were moaning about him being dropped for Kane - who then scored v Hull

"Let’s not write the players off but let’s at least show a bit of consistency – these new guys are not better than we already have. "

That contradicts itself.

I don’t think we should turn this into a “We should have done this” or “we should have done that” debate. But I think we need to take our blinkers off, forget who cost what, or what clips we might have seen X do in a totally different league, and just debate sensibly on what we think the solution is (not that it affects anything but it may create a better, more consistent, debate between us).

Regardless of personal opinions, Ade and Defoe are proven at what they do in this league – they can score goals. The same goes for players like Siggy who, whilst they may have a dip in form over 90 minutes here and there, they have shown they can hack it in this league.

We all hope that Soldado will adapt and start scoring, we all hope Lamela can deliver what we thought we were getting for £30m, but we have to accept that these players have not adapted well as yet, and we have to face up to this.

I don’t know why Eriksen isn’t getting picked though, as he is one of the few additions who has impressed, and I’m not sure what we expect with him coming on in the 86th minute – but we are facing the same creativity problems we have faced since August 2012. I know our stats might look good from shots on goal purposes but compared to genuine chances on goal, we have been poor around the opposition’s goal.

Its time we started thinking about a Plan B – as its either Plan A or Plan A at the moment.

More reasoning for wanting Adebayor to get some game time is that even when he is not scoring goals he causes defences problems with his physical presence, the season before last he scored 17 goals and got 13 assists. She he is a team player who can provide as well as score. Yes he is frustrating but if all 3 of our strikers were on the top of thier game. Adebayor would cause the most problems in my opinion. I think AVB's treatment of Ade has been poor to be honest.

There is actually an interesting article on the BBC website from Robbie Savage, despite the fact in bold writing it says 'goalless daw'.

Talks about Soldado's lack of opportunities due to wingers cutting in and not crossing in to him, which I've agreed with for a while.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24794729

He is a decent striker he's just being a bit wasted with the way we play.

Did these comments really come from sandy, the most negative poster there is in regard to individual players?

I have questioned one players credentials still to be holding down a first team place after nearly 10 years at the club, and plenty of new players now coming in to challenge his position. That is not negative that is forward thinking. Nothing like exaggerating a point to try to score brownie points with our fellow posters.

You don`t like AVB, but I don`t keep going on about it to you, it`s your opinion, and you are entitled to it, same as I am with the said player, but you don`t seem able to accept any other persons opinions other than your own.

oh great mr happy is back

I see that this guy still doesn't have a clue about football. soldado is not an all round striker like benteke... he is a finisher with exceptional movement.. you need to make chances for him.. which is what we are not doing.

I haven't read one single comment in this thread, but I can guarantee that others will have said this as its so obvious.

Though to be honest I thought Benteke would have been a massive gamble at £25m - everything is clearer in hindsight.

-------

benteke has been far below his performances of last season so far this season. he was terrible by all accounts on Saturday
