Should be a good game and Arsenal can get a result if they play as well as they have been lately, you need Kos and Mert to play like they did v us last Sat, both were excellent throughout especially Kos who seems to be the perfect defender to deal with a player like Suarez.

You're right though, Koscielny is one of the best in the business at dealing with individually gifted players. Mertersacker on the other hand is deceptively good but is often over looked as he isn't aggressive like Kos.

Ah Arsenal are grand I just like wumming some of the fans on here cause the reaction is always funny. Yeah Mert is not given enough credit he reminds me of Sammi Hyppia for us never really rated by anyone but the clubs fans who watch him every week, you'd not find one LFC fan with a bad word to say about Sami and the two have similar playing styles.

There were a few hairy moments last saturday which I would like them to sort out but as a whole they played well.

IMO Kos' performance against Suarez was the best I've seen from a defender against him.

If we just had Theo, I'd fancy us to give them a good game using our counter attacking away setup.

Without him, I think it's a big, big ask to get 3 points. A point would be a good result.

I don't think Kos knows how good he is. ANY purely technical player he can have in his pocket.

Agreed. He does well against those kind of players. Had Aguero in his pockets I remember a few years ago as well.
Think he struggles more with the big and strong defenders more than anything. That's when Mertesacker steps in.

Agree Dubbed that's why they are a good partnership, I like Kos' agressivness, I thought Suarez would give him a very hard time but overall Kos delt with him superbly, for me we didn;t try to exploit Studg's pace up against Mert, who is a very good defender but very slow on the turn, we needed to hit in behind Mert for Studge to run onto but to do this the Midfield needs th eball and we saw little of it in that area on Sat.

No offence. I don't think Sturridge is that good. If we shackled Suarez (which we did) there was no way Sturridge would do anything on his own. He's a good finisher and is pretty quick. But that's not enough when you face top teams.

I would take a point too. It will be a tough game for us and I personally think we will lose this. To beat them we would need all our players available. The atmosphere and dont underestimate that is extreme in Dortmund.

So fingers crossed...and hope for a good result.

Fair point Dubbed I was looking at it from where we might have found some joy but it didn't work, the opposition have to play a high line to really exploit over the top and you held a good line not too deep and not too high.
