We look WAY more lethargic in every aspect of our play compared to BvB

Not really, their midfield with Gundogan (when fit) and Bender is far far far more mobile than our. They also posses real danger on the wings with Reus, one of the best wingers in the world.

Don't forget last night half of their defence were not playing, I personally think Subotic and Hummels are a great pairing and again both far more mobile than Rio/Vidic and have far better experience and understanding that Evans/Jones, they also play a high line.

Their counters are lethal and their game is primarily about pressing which we simply don't do.

Nothing like us IMO. More energy, work rate and guile.
However in Rooney and RVP we possess a better strike force. They rely heavily on Lewandowski.
Offer Kagawa for Reus I reckon and ditch Young. That would be a nice start

Hummels is a crap defender.

However with regards to playing the ball from the back there is no defender as good as him.

His long diagonal balls to the wingers would put even Scholes to shame.

There is a reason why he is considered by the Germans as a successor to Beckenbaeuer.

That is our problem. Our center backs just keep passing the ball for 15 seconds between them and just finally hoof it upfront. We dont have this ability to move the ball rapidly out from the defense like Dortmund or Barca do

Bit unfair to say our strike force is better. Over the past 2-3 years you could arguably say Lewandowski has been the best striker between them and us while Mkhitaryan has only been at Dormund for a few months but is already looking very good.

The big difference is that Dortmund play as a team, and while on paper you could say RVP and Rooney are better, as a partnership so far it hasn't really gelled. Mkhitaryan seems to be gelling in well at Dortmund and the team as a whole will benefit.

I said considered. Note the word "considered"

Doeant make him Beckenbeuer

I rarely watch foreign football, but Subotic impressed me more in the CL final last year than Hummels

He might well be but 'arguably' in the past 2 seasons I would say Lewandowski has been better.

Ok, Mr Angry, maybe note the word 'arguably'.

Belllend.

You don't like pressing?!.. Barca and Bayern not float your boat then in terms of style of play?

Dont let Lewandowskis stats fool you.

He is a world class striker but the guy misses so many chances its unbelievable.

while RVP isnt the most clinical in the world but he still is more clinical than Lewandowski.

Dortmund create more chances than almost all teams in the world. If Lewandowski was a little more clinical he would be touching 50 goals. Such is the amount of chances his team creates.

Arsenal and United dont create half the chances yet RVP has equal no of goals. Chicharito would score 30 + for Dortmund

RVP >>> Lewandowski

Lewandowski is a great player, no doubt. All I am saying RVP and Rooney together makes us less reliant on the one like they sometimes can be. Put i this way if Lewandowski goes to Arsenal or Chelsea they will win the league. I wish we could buy him but we already have RVP and Rooney so no room.
Given that I would go all out for Gundogan.

After years of squeezing out results using older slower players, people have forgotten that good football is more than results.

So, hoof it up front straight away, yes?

Actually, sarcasm aside, you have made a comment of some worth and merit.

I hope you are not ill.

Yet for some reason I wouldn't ever want to swap either of those players for one Sergio Aguero (hypothetically) Arab!..

posted on 7/11/13

Aguero is class as well, but I'm a bit biased with RVP and I've always admired Zlatan despite what this country thought of him. His technique with the ball is magic

I hear what you're saying but I would say Dortmund play a more traditional #10 behind the main striker giving them greater control in the middle. So what they may lack as a strikeforce they gain far more in midfield and as a whole work better as a team. Dortmund also seem to possess a greater threat to goal through their wings than we do so there is less need for a 'strikeforce' like the way we have it.

I'm still not convinced at the partnership of RVP and Rooney, only 1 ever seems to play well at a time.

I don't wanna start a debate but surely Messi and Ronaldo are the best 'strikers' by a country mile. I know they aren't traditional strikers but as far as I'm aware a striker's role is to score goals and Messi and Ronaldo do it far far far better than anyone else.

In terms of you're classic number 9, out and out striker, I'd definitely agree with you
