Better finishing, heading ability,
back tracking, movement and
most importantly, he can score
from open play
-------
You think Giroud has better finishing and movement? Particularly finishing? Soldado would score tons if he played for Arsenal without doubt. I wouldn't take his quiet start for Spurs too seriously with their poor creativity.
Soldado has only moved to this country. New league, new playing tempo. All the excuses afforded to Giroud last year.
Only difference is, Giroud has a years experience under his belt, and still looks awful.

Agree with this though.
It's funny, before the season started the Spurs fans were all about giving their new team time to gel - yet 25% of the way in they are already getting on their back for not gelling.
It's not difficult for people to watch 90 min. of football to figure out that your midfield isnt in shape and well balanced and your striker is isolated. Its up for the striker to pick up the ball in midfield then and to make space for other forwards to push in....well when you have some forwards though
Soldado must be loving the PL he is plying like $hit but all the pens are covering up his poorness.

This is the stupidest comment I have ever read from you and you wrote down some recently. It's obvious you didnt watch Soldado displays.
The problem we have is that the Giroud/Soldado type of striker never has been suited to our game. Ever. The type with little or no pace who tries to hold up play and is solely reliant on the service they get and the movement he creates. Eduardo was sort of that type and looked decent until his injury.
Arsenal have always been associated with the mobile, technically gifted striker. Well ever since Wenger came here anyway.
Giroud is simply not suited to our style of play.
Giroud is simply not suited to our style of play.
========================================
Not really suited to our sport to be honest, let alone style of play.
We have some different kind of strikers at Arsenal. The last 8 years it leads to nothing than desperation. Let's see how it works out with that kind of forwards we have

So I take it you disagree Soldado is a better finisher than Giroud? You actually think Giroud is a better finisher? Is there any striker in the world you think is better than Giroud?

26mil striker that only scpres from service :/
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Giroud is not great but he surely didn't cost £26M. For that price, you would expect a striker to be able once a while to create on his own.
How much did Tevez cost to Juventus?
Last 8 years the strikers we've had are:
Henry, Adebayor, RVP, Eduardo, Bendtner. too name a few
I would have any one of those now rather than Giroud.

Butdont forget that Soldado takes penalties whereas Giroud doesn't, without his penalties this wouldn't even be a discussion!!
I'd choose Bendtner. Him and SAS in a 4-3-3 would be brilliant

Hunting, Giroud has improved from last year. No doubt. But back then and still now he is not Arsenal standard. I don't know if our expectations and standards have slipped so much that we can still rate Giroud as a top striker, but he isn't. He is slow, static and for the lats 3-4 matches isn't even holding up the ball anymore.
And his finishing has been rank average. The Liverpool miss summed it up.
Now Spurs have massively overpaid for Soldado, no doubt. But his quality has never been in question. His record in Spain speaks for itself. When given the chance, he will at least test the keeper. He is, by far and away, the better finisher compared to Giroud.
You cant say a striker is worth his value because he scores a couple of dived penalty's

Soldado is easily a better finisher. And playing in the right system with the right players reading and supplying his runs, I've seen enough of Soldado over the last 5 years to know he's a better mover than Giroud.

I've watched a lot of Giroud for over 2 seasons now. That's more than enough time to evaluate his movement. Compared to the statue that is Chamakh, Giroud may seem a good mover but compared to the top strikers in the league, he lags miles behind.
