We need to let Jose get his style over the squad sell the likes of KDB mata and limit lampards playing time and go for strength in midfield pace and power up front

I honestly think Jose is planning to sell Mata in Jan. He just doesn't rate him at all. It's perplexing the fact that we played so shockingly for the whole game yet Mata didn't even get a sniff.

In addition to the fact that plenty of other players play badly/average and still get a game in the following weeks. Mata has an average game and is benched without reprise.

Bit harsh on Willian and Schurrle, I think they're settling in well. What are you expecting from them in the first few months of there England careers?

Seeing a lot of improvement, Basle are a good team, and we went in resting one of our key players in Hazard. Was surprised we didn't play a 4231 counter game, but I think we are building some consistency up with this 433 now, and we could afford to do that at the moment.

Qualified, 4 points from the top (with some tough fixtures out the way), QF of CL and we still haven't really settled as a team (And won't until we got a new CM imo) is pretty solid.

Whatever Jose is doing, seems to be working, even though we are short in a position or two. Just keeps this going till Jan, and I can see us building real momentum in the new year.

The same stuff we've been playing for the last 4 years is the same stuff we're playing now. What's changed apart from us sitting deeper and keeping compact. We had no shots today I think. 0 shots.

But difference is we look like we can improve as we go on in the season, and have a world class manager in charge.

Same points as this time last year (only 2 more than the season before that). Same stage in the C1C. Only slightly better off in the CL in what is our easier group for a while.

And we are not exactly more solid at back and are not better going forward.

But now with a world class manager in charge and a better squad, which should, and I am confident will, make a big difference at the end of the season.

Agree with OP about Willian/Schurrle. Strange we paid £50m for the pair of them. Willian seems to hold back while Schurrle really flatters to decieve.
